Disney's newest roller coaster debuted at Walt Disney World in Florida over the weekend and is already one of the most popular attractions in the parks.

The patrons waited until five o'clock to ride the Slinky Dog Dash on the new 11-acre Toy Story Land in Hollywood's Disney Studios when it officially opened on Saturday. The line just to get into Toy Story Land – or to grab a bite to eat at Woody's Lunch Box, the soup, sandwich and snack counter – has exceeded two hours.

The new steel coaster offers a smooth ride through the area, which has the theme of looking like Andy's court of "Toy Story" movies. Although it is more child-friendly than Rock & # 39; n & # 39; Roller Coaster, the other coaster of the park, this does not mean that it lacked thrills.

Slinky Dog Dash introduces a second mid-point launch, which, according to the company, was a first for its parks. The coaster stops, is shot at the slingshot, and then launched on a steep hill, offering a brief floating sensation at the top.

Slinky Dog Dash also offers great views of the park, including the Star Wars construction area: Galaxy's Edge.

The tour ends with an animatronic Wheezy the penguin singing the franchise song, "You have a friend in me", as the character did in "Toy Story 2", aided by Mr. Mike and Mr. Spell.

Slinky Dog Dash and the other new Toy Story Land attraction, Alien Swirling Saucers, are even more beautiful at night when the lights go on.

Toy Story Land is part of a multi-year makeover of Disney's Hollywood Studios. Next year, Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway will open in the former home of the Great Movie Ride. The Lightning McQueen Racing Academy, a new themed show of Pixar's "Cars" movies, is also arriving at the park next year.

"Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge" is expected to open in late autumn 2019. There is also a hotel on the theme "Star Wars" planned, with an opening date not announced yet.
