CLEVELAND, Ohio – The 2018 NFL season begins Thursday night, when the Atlanta Falcons will visit defending Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. Week 1 continues with 13 games Sunday and two Monday.

I will choose NFL games against the gap for a fourth consecutive season. In this space, I refuse to take the easy way; I choose all the games, even if I do not feel some of them. At the same time, I am realistic. I think the stick of .500 ATS – as opposed to a simple turnaround – is a feat and I give no guarantee. (And do not shout too loud when I have a bad week because, after all, it's only for entertainment purposes.) We play with Monopoly money and cards Get Out Of Jail Free, thanks for that.)

I have searched every team / match, but the plan is to rely more on the gut. The plan did not work in 2017, but I am stubborn.

For the sake of continuity, I will use the MGM Mirage lines from vegasinsider.com every week starting Wednesday afternoon, unless otherwise stated. The games are listed as I found them, not in order of certainty. I do not make choices even if injuries occur and / or lines change between Wednesday afternoon and Sunday. (Such an approach has cost me more victories than it has saved.)

Below are my ATS records the previous three seasons. I will have to bounce back.

  • In 2015, I went 122-127-7 in the regular season and 4-6-1 in the playoffs.
  • In 2016, I went 130-118-8 in the regular season and 9-2 in the playoffs.
  • In 2017, I went 113-133-10 in the regular season and 6-5 in the playoffs.
