Mr Perez also said that the Trump administration had "produced results for very wealthy people," referring to what he described as "reckless" tax cuts from the GOP.
"They have produced results for very wealthy people and large corporations in the form of the most reckless tax cuts in American history. It is a tax cut that mortgages the future of our children and our grandchildren, "he said.
Republican National Committee President Ronna McDaniel said on Sunday that the government of the Republic was responsible for a "booming economy" and therefore needed to retain its majority in Congress.
