Do not stay in this fart. He could escape by the mouth.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – It's no secret that everyone is farting. And even if it's perfectly normal, we often find ourselves taking gasoline while letting it go is too embarrassing or humiliating. Imagine that you are stuck in a crowded elevator with your boss and you start taking the picture.

But what happens when all this gas accumulates with nowhere to go? The short answer is nothing good. And, according to one researcher, this could have unintended consequences. In some cases, this gas could escape with an accidental tear. Or, and we're not joking here, it could be exhaled in your breath.

So, how is this possible? According to Clare Collins, professor of nutrition and dietetics for the University of Newcastle in Australia, choking a pet causes a build-up of gas in your gut. In the absence of any possible outcome, the gas can be reabsorbed into the blood and potentially "exhaled through the lungs".

"Trying to hold him back causes pressure buildup and major discomfort" Collins wrote in an essay published by The Conversation. "An accumulation of intestinal gas can trigger abdominal distention, with some gas reabsorbed into the circulation and exhaled in your breath. Holding too long means that intestinal gas buildup will eventually escape through an uncontrollable fart.

Yikes!

The jury still does not know whether keeping it too long can lead to health problems, such as diverticulitis – which, according to the Mayo Clinic, occurs when pockets form in your intestinal wall and become infected or inflamed. But, as Collins noted, the healthiest choice is clear.

"The next time you feel a lot of intestinal gas getting ready to do what it does, try moving to a more convenient place," she said. "Whether you do it or not, the best thing to do for your digestive health is to give up".
