LOS ANGELES (AP) – Clayton Kershaw and the Los Angeles Dodgers want more time to consider together their possible future.

NL Cy Young Award Winner Three times and the team have agreed to extend the deadline for his 40-hour withdrawal to 13 hours. PDT Friday.

The team made this announcement a few hours before 9pm. Exit deadline Thursday,

Kershaw can retire from the last two years and $ 65 million from his contract to become a free agent for the first time in 11 years of career in the big league, spent entirely with the Dodgers. They wrote it in 2006.

If he withdraws, he can negotiate with any team, including the Dodgers.

He signed a $ 215 million contract over seven years in January 2014, with salaries of $ 32 million next year and $ 33 million by 2020.

Kershaw has been 9-5 with an average of 2.73 this season.

At 30, he remains one of the best baseball pitchers. But the southpaw has had two separate relays on the disabled list for the fourth time in five years this season, and his fastball speed has declined.

Despite all his individual praise, the seven-time star player has still not won a world series. The Dodgers lost in the Fall Classic for the second year in a row, beating 4-1 against Boston on Sunday.

Kershaw lost games 1 and 5 against the Red Sox. He is 9-10 with a 4.32 playoff record in his career, including 1-4 with a 6.06 ERA in the playoffs. He is 153-69 with a 2.39 ERA in the regular season.
