Colin Kaepernick finally seems to be able to enter the NFL: he is preparing for his former team, the 49ers of San Francisco.

That's perfectly understandable, right?

With the 49ers now Fearing that their starting quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo, tore ACL on his left knee on Sunday, we could not help but recall the words of the 49th GM John Lynch. In March 2017, after Kaepernick waived his contract with the 49ers, Lynch said the team had not ruled out a meeting.

"We left this door open in a very real and positive way," said Lynch at the time.

Would the 49ers fan base be open for Kaepernick's return, since he led them to the Super Bowl XLVII in 2013?

Or would they remember losing 20 of his last 24 starts?

Here are five reasons why Lynch brings back Kaepernick:

1. When Lynch made the comment of the meeting, the team had no quarterback on the lineup. When the 49ers recruited C.J. Beathard and signed Brian Hoyer, the team was ready to move forward. Probable for good

2. Kaepernick has not filed a lawsuit for collusion against the NFL, and it is still unclear whether he is more determined to win the case than to resume his career – and if these two things are mutually exclusive.

3. Kaepernick is not up to Kyle Shanahan's attack, as Kaepernick has evolved little as a pocket player and regressed after the Super Bowl in 2013, completed less than 60% of his passes, arms, has a suspicious touch.

4. Lynch said the 49ers were planning to release Kaepernick after the 2016 season if the quarterback had not withdrawn from his contract. Although the terms of the contract were a major point of disagreement, there did not appear to be any impact on their projects.

5. Kaepernick has virtually no interest in supporting an unproven player like Beathard – and he probably will not even be able to consider it. Shanahan said Sunday that he was not planning to sign a quarterback veteran.
