Boston Celtics fans are very optimistic about the team's chances of success, and it seems that ESPN shares a similar feeling.
ESPN's Kevin Pelton on Tuesday unveiled his latest NBA Future Power Rankings, and C took second place with a score of 79.2. The ranked categories were players, management, money, the market and the draw.
Golden State Warriors, the reigning two-time NBA champion, was the only team ahead of the Celtics with a score of 84.6.
It's not hard to see why the Celtics have a bright future.
They are filled with star veterans (Kyrie Irving, Gordon Hayward), young talents (Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum), the best general manager / general assistant of the league (Danny Ainge / Mike Zarren). head coach Brad Stevens.
With a healthy team entering the 2018-19 season, the Celtics are more concerned with winning now than could happen in the future. Ainge and Zarren have built a list that should be able to compete for short- and long-term championships, thanks in large part to clever writing, good exchanges and free agents.
