DAVIE, Florida – Miami Dolphins Safety Pro Bowl Reshad Jones is adamant that he has no regrets on Sunday, when he decided not to return to the 13-6 win of his team on the New York Jets, while he had only played 10 times in the first quarter.
"I've never been a quitter," Jones said. "I have been here for nine years, I play my ass for this team, I have never been a quitter, I will never do it."
The question came after Jones was eliminated by defensive coordinator Matt Burke before the fourth defensive series of the Dolphins. Burke swiveled the defensive backs of the game to make the rookie Minkah Fitzpatrick is a full time player.

Jones, who came to Gase's office Sunday after the match to explain himself, said he had spoken to his teammates and coaches this week and that they were all "on the same page." page". Jones, 30, said his right labrum, partially torn, had no impact on his decision to withdraw from the game and that he would be ready to play alternately in defense if necessary.
"What the coaching staff tells us to do, that's what we're ready to do," Jones said. "It's been a long time since I'm one of the best protections in the league, and I'm going to keep fighting and fighting for this team."
