An old clip of Paul Manafort trying to defend President Donald Trump seems "really, really clumsy" in light of the latest revelations, according to CNN's Don Lemon.
It's so weird that Lemon could not stop laughing while he was playing … then looked at him a second time and laughed even harder:
"To be clear, Mr. Trump has no financial ties to Russian oligarchs," CBS News presenter Norah O'Donnell told Manafort in the July 2016 clip.
Manafort stammers in his answer.
"That's what he said," Manafort replies. "That's what I said. This is obviously what our position is.
Lemon laughed the two times he played.
"It was really, really embarrassing," he concluded. "I still have no idea what he said there."
What makes it so embarrassing is the revelation on Thursday that Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen told the court that talks on a potential real estate project at Trump Tower in Moscow will continue in June 2016. .
