One night during which the UFC celebrated 25 years of history, Donald Cerrone ended up making his own story.
In the last minute of the first round of UFC Fight Night on Saturday, Cerrone forced a Mike Perry bid through a bar to capture the 21st victory of his career in the UFC, a new record for the UFC.
The victory of Cerrone allowed Georges St-Pierre and Michael Bisping to win three draws. He also set the record for the number of finishes in the history of the UFC at age 15, thus breaking the tie with Vitor Belfort and Anderson Silva.
The record has been in place for more than seven years for Cerrone, whose first UFC fight took place in February 2011. Cerrone's professional record is now at 34-11 with 17 victories won via the bid.

Establishing such an important milestone was only appropriate at an event where the UFC was doing its utmost to celebrate its 25th anniversary, featuring a retro Octagon and special graphics.
With his quick win in the first round, Cerrone should not have to wait long to receive his next opponent and an opportunity to put some space between him and the rest of the fighters in UFC history. He seemed rather impatient for this day to come.
"I do not care who, I just want to know when," said Cerrone.
