A private party was organized at the time of the collapse. We do not know who was organizing the party.

Clemson Police Chief Jimmy Dixon said no one was trapped.

Thirty people were transported to three hospitals in the region, officials said.

Clemson University Fire organized a triage on site and transported the wounded.

Dixon said there was no injury putting his life in danger at the moment.

Clemson University sent a Safe Alert CU to inform students, faculty and staff of the incident at Woodlands Apartments. The school said it would provide counseling and psychological services to "students in distress".

"I'm watching the situation, and my thoughts and prayers are with all those who have been hurt," said Clemson University President Jim Clements.
