DENVER (CBS4)– Supporters of the Colorado Cancer League have summoned 38 stories in the Hyatt Regency Denver on Thursday. The annual event called "Over the Edge" and dozens of people participated in cancer awareness and funding research.
"It's one of the scariest things I've ever done. Standing on the edge of the building, everything in your brain, in your heart and in your body tells you that you must not go down. Do not leave, "said Danyelle Taylor.

Taylor says that she participated for her friend who, just two weeks ago, discovered that she had cancer.

"So, talking to my friend who said it was impossible to cope with all this chemotherapy, radiotherapy, double mastectomy. And I thought how I can of course say you can … except pushing my limits and what I think is terrifying, "said Taylor.

Colorado cancer league officials say all of the funds raised by Over the Edge will go directly to supporting cancer research and patient services here in Colorado. Cancer League has donated more than $ 16 million in grants for cancer research and patient services in Colorado.

Over the Edge has raised more than $ 1 million over the last 10 years to support this mission. This year's goal is $ 400,000.

Courtney Mizel also participated. Years ago, she was diagnosed with cancer and a friend made this event in her honor. Now she is hooked.

"It's a long battle for most people and it's difficult and the least I can do to show my appreciation because someone who has survived is getting up and facing my fears for the 9th time and as a reminder.
