GEORGETOWN, Del. – Public health officials say dozens of people have been exposed to active TB in an elementary school in southern Delaware.
Authorities said Tuesday that about 50 people at Georgetown Primary School had been identified for testing.
Officials refuse to provide details about the source of the infection or the people who need testing, citing the confidentiality of medical data.
Last year, the school had about 780 children from kindergarten to grade five.
Officials say that information about the tests and an information sheet were sent home Tuesday with students who were identified for testing. For other families, a general information letter and an information sheet are sent home with the students.
