Dozens of school districts close early because of excessive heat

[ad_1]

Dozens of school districts, mostly in New Jersey, are leaving Thursday morning as temperatures are expected to skyrocket in the 1990s in the three states, with heat indices reaching 100 degrees or more.

On Wednesday, several New Jersey students were overwhelmed by heat and collapsed in a gym class. Many school districts around the three states started the school year this week, but a late summer heat wave wreaked havoc throughout the region.

The weather is supposed to be hot and humid for one more day Thursday before a strong cold front arriving later in the day brings well deserved relief.
