'Dragon Ball Super' Goku Receives Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Ball

Goku, the main hero of Dragon Ball series, will be one of the giant balloons of Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.

With his blue Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan hair, the Goku Thanksgiving ball arrives at a depth of 70 feet, a width of 36 feet and a height of 56 feet. It will take more than 100 balloon manipulators during the parade to help Goku fly the streets of New York during Thanksgiving.

"This year, Macy's Thanksgiving Parade will redefine the show with a breathtaking mix of must-see entertainment for millions of viewers," said Susan Tercero, Executive Producer of the Thanksgiving Parade in this release. "With an astonishing range of flying balloons, dazzling animated floats, parades and world-class performance groups, the country's best musical artists and, of course, the unique Santa Claus, the Macy's parade." It announces the arrival of the holiday season. "

Goku joins Pikachu, the most recognizable Pokémon, as the only other Japanese fictional character from the Macy's Parade hot air balloon lineup in 2001.

The inclusion of the legendary Super Saiyan in the parade commemorates the release of the 20th animated film in the history of the series, Dragon Ball Super: Broly. Broly will be released in North America on January 16, 2019 and will give fans more information on the history of the Saiyans and how the ugly Frieza fits into Broly's origins.

Broly was a nasty single movie that debuted in the '90s with the movie Broly: The legendary Super Saiyan. However, the character was not part of the canon of the series, which the creator of the series, Akira Toriyama, wants to change.

This next film will bring Broly to the movies Dragon Ball clean continuity and even present Goku's mother for the first time.

The 92nd edition of Macy's Thanksgiving Parade will take place from 9 am to noon. EST Thursday, November 22nd. If you can not participate in the parade, the festivities will be broadcast nationally on NBC.
