Duchess Meghan celebrated the launch of a charity cookbook – his first project – at Kensington Palace on Thursday.

The palace announced The Royal Foodie provided support on Monday for "Together: Our Community Cookbook", which will benefit a community kitchen founded after the deadly fire of the Grenfell Tower in June 2017, leaving tenants in the building where to prepare their meals. She also wrote the preface to the book.

Meghan quickly abandoned this blue coat picked up a spatula to help the authors prepare green rice. She also expressed her sincere affection for the project, as described in shared images on Twitter by the editor of ITV News Chris Ship.

"Working on this project for the past nine months has been a huge job of love," said Meghan. "I had just moved to London and felt so immediately embraced by the women in the kitchen.

"Your warmth and your kindness, and also being able to be in this city and see in this small room how multicultural it was," she continued. "On a personal level, I am very proud to live in a city that can have as much diversity. (There are) 12 countries represented in this group of women – (that's) pretty remarkable."

She continued, "Everyone has embraced this so deeply because it has been a project of passion for us all and for a very good reason," added Meghan. "I said in the foreword that it's more than just a cookbook, and what I mean by that is that the power of food is much more than just eating itself, recipe, you will get to know the person behind it. "

"Together" includes more than 50 recipes from a group known as the Hubb Community Kitchen, named after the Arabic word meaning "love." Meghan made her first visit to the kitchen in January, where the women had gathered to prepare meals after being dislodged by fire.

"They all shared the food two days a week, preparing food and eating together," says the Royal Foundation's website. "Soon there were women from different cultures who cooked, exchanged recipes, talked and laughed, and when they cooked, they started to connect, heal and look forward, and continued to cook together twice a week. . With recipes from the cookbook, the kitchen aims to open its doors up to seven days a week.
