Dwight Howard of the wizards: on the way to the camp

Howard is struggling with back pain and is considered a daily participant in training camp, reports Zach Rosen of WashingtonWizards.com.

It sounds like nothing more than a slight malaise, but Howard can now be considered dubious for the season's pre-season game on October 1 against the Knicks. The Wizards would certainly like Howard to be available at some point in the pre-season to have reps with his new teammates, but again, there's no reason to risk further injury by forcing Howard to act too early. Look for additional updates to be provided as game day approaches and, at this time, Howard should not miss any regular season period.
