Gone are the days when a glamorous eruption required a hair dryer, a round brush and a curling iron.
The latest Dyson invention is everything you need in one tool: the Airwrap styler.
The company, previously best known as a reliable manufacturer of home appliances, made its appearance on the beauty scene in 2016 with its remarkably light and quiet Dyson Supersonic hair dryer, which has elicited mixed reviews but generally positive. (And let's be realistic: critics were generally skeptical about the $ 400 price.)
Editor's note: On sale now for $ 250 and is a great gift for mom).
After much anticipation, Dyson has launched another tool: a multi-purpose styler, which dries your hair. while it's looping. Magic? No, just science. Dyson engineers started the process by looking at how people are currently crisscrossing.
"The most traditional way of making curls is to put hair around an iron or use a round brush to avoid getting caught there," explained TODAY Style. James Dyson, the British inventor and founder of the company. "Both of these methods have a problem – one entangles the hair and the other damages the hair.
"We knew – or thought – that we could get the hair around a barrel using an airflow," added Dyson. "This is called the Coanda effect, because if you could, you could make loops by simply following the air around the cylinder." (The hair rolls up) and then you shoot them, so no entanglements. "
