Eagles Injury Report: Updates on Lane Johnson, Sidney Jones and Derek Barnett | 5 players excluded against the giants

CRÊME PHILADELPHIA – The Eagles will face the Giants for a short week without halfback Darren Sproles, defensive tackle Haloti Ngata and free guard Corey Graham. The trio was ruled out Wednesday.

Defensive end Derek Barnett (shoulder), cornerback nickel Sidney Jones (ankle) and right tackle Lane Johnson (ankle) were absent from last injury report on Wednesday despite limited participation in testing this week .

Barnett missed the loss to the Minnesota Vikings last week, but will return to his role Thursday against the Giants.

6 reasons the Eagles will still win the NFC East

Sproles will miss his fifth consecutive game because of a persistent injury to the hamstring. The half suffered an injury during the practice of week 2. He has not participated in any practice since. The Eagles will use the Corey Clement trio, Wendell Smallwood and Josh Adams to fill the gap left by Sproles and former starter Jay Ajayi (knee), who had been placed in the injured reserve on Monday.

Ngata will miss her second consecutive game with a calf injury. The veteran lineman was a late addition to last week's injury report and missed the defeat against the Vikings in the fifth week. With Ngata absent, the Eagles will again rely on the reinforcements Destiny Vaeao and Treyvon Hester. The team also claimed the nose tackle T.Y. McGill waives waivers Monday.

Graham will miss the match because of a thigh injury suffered in the Minnesota defeat in the fifth week. The Eagles' third security was downgraded following a forgotten performance against the Tennessee Titans in the fourth week. With rookie Avonte Maddox starting safely, the Eagles only have three bodies in their place. Deiondre Safety Reserve & Hall was used exclusively for special teams this season.

The security position could be a concern for Thursday's football match. The Eagles could decide to promote safety for the first year, Tre Sullivan, of the training team for increased depth.

Nata Gerry (ankle, knee) and D.J. will be linebackers. Alexander (quadricep). With the two players played, the Eagles will have only four linebackers in good health at the 6th week.

Starters Nigel Bradham, Jordan Hick and Kamu Grugier-Hill will be seconded by special teams LaRoy Reynolds. The Eagles currently have Asantay Brown on the training team at the linebacker. Brown could be called to the main draw if the Eagles feel they need more depth.

Here is the injury report at week 6 in the Eagles:
