The eighth week of the NFL is taking place in a few key games. The Saints play against the Vikings, the Panthers against the Ravens, the Steelers against the Browns and the Packers against the Rams. There are a lot of things at stake, but the game that starts at 9:30 am (ET) could have some of the biggest implications for two struggling teams: the Eagles and the Jaguars.
The Eagles and Jaguars will play in London to give the nod to Sunday's NFL list, and these are two teams that could really enjoy a win. Both teams are 3-4, with the Eagles lagging behind the Redskins in the NFC East and the Jaguars attempting to catch the Texans in the south AFC. To make matters worse for Jaguars in particular, Texans are on the rise. The Jaguars have won their last three games in London. Blake Bortles scored eight touchdowns. They will need this Bortles against an Eagles defense that remains difficult, despite his recent fights.
In Friday's "Off the Bench" podcast, Danny Kanell and Raja Bell present a glimpse of Day 8, including the Eagles-Jaguars. They talk about Jacksonville's success at Wembley in recent years. While Bell thinks the Eagles are suffering from a Super Bowl hangover, he thinks the Jaguars are living the same thing, with the exception of the Super Bowl. The only question is whether the Jaguars can bounce back.
