IS RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Eagles (2-3) desperately need to save their season with a win in the sixth week against the Giants at MetLife Stadium on Thursday.
After a difficult start, Philadelphia is currently ranked third in the division behind the Washington Redskins (2-2) and the Dallas Cowboys (2-3, 1-0 against NFC East). However, with the six division clashes still on the schedule, the Eagles are clearly on their way to the rebound in the NFC East. The first knockout in Philadelphia will be against the Giants, who have experienced even more serious difficulties than the Eagles this year.
Last season, the Eagles swept the Giants in their annual two-game series. Will the Eagles repeat this success this year?
Q & A: RG Brandon Brooks
The Eagles who start the quarterback, Brandon Brooks, were one of the few reliable members of the offensive line of the team during the first part of the season. The Pro Bowl lineman has accumulated an impressive three-year term with the Eagles since joining the team in 2016.
The former third-round pick has become a leading player for the Eagles. Accompanied by Jason Kelce, All-Pro center, and right-winger Lane Johnson, Brooks has managed to fend for himself among the best football line players.
NJ Advance Media met Brooks to talk about his recent success and early season Eagles:
FIRST DOWN
At the end of the Pro Bowl year and the success of the team, how much did it give you more confidence for the season?
"I guess that before [last season]I have always had the feeling of being a very good goalkeeper, one of the best in the league. But for myself and for everyone else, the Pro Bowl vote has strengthened it. But it 's the same with the Super Bowl last year it' s last year. I think one of the most rewarding things about the league is that every year players start from scratch, 0-0, not just as a team, but as individual praise. You have to go and win every year, every moment. With O-linemen, the only way to do it is to be perfectly irreproachable. [pass protection] and the racing game. Entering this year, I just wanted to build on what I had done last year and go from there. "
SECOND DOWN
What is the next individual goal for you in general? Is there anything you want to accomplish individually?
"I really like going out and playing with these guys." I think that's one thing, with [Eagles offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland]It allowed me to raise my game and to have a lot more confidence in me and who I am, so I can not say it was just me. It's the guys around me who believe in me and allow me to release my talent. "
THIRD DOWN
It's odd to be elected to the Pro Bowl, but you do not want to be at the Pro Bowl because you prefer to be at the Super Bowl every year?
"Yeah, it's weird, but the most important goal and the rarest thing is to win the Super Bowl. It's the ultimate team sport. You give me some flashback on the entire trip to Minnesota and the Super Bowl victory There's nothing like that I can not even describe it Ten out of ten I would take a Super Bowl before the Pro Bowl. "
