Earl Thomas pushes the Seattle Seahawks into a corner. His elite game during the first three weeks of the season makes him more valuable than ever, but the Seahawks can not continue to accept the refusal of security to be a reliable participant in practice.
While Seahawks coach Pete Carroll has not ruled out an extension for Thomas, if the team chooses not to pay for the Pro Bowler six times, he may have to deal with an entire season of Thomas showing his dissatisfaction.
Although Thomas did more practice this week than last time, the NFL trade deadline is only a month away and some teams could use the boost that Thomas would give them. But trading for Thomas will not be cheap.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Seahawks are "stuck" on the asking price for a second round of the NFL draft in 2019.
The offer of the Dallas Cowboys' second-round picks was rejected by the Seahawks just before the start of the season, but part of Seattle's hesitation was that the teams had to play at Week 3.
The Seahawks will not give Thomas for anything, but safety has saved the team time.
Here are four teams that could be a good match for Thomas, if an exchange ends up happening.
Dallas Cowboys
The problems for the troubled Cowboys are mainly on the offensive side of the ball, but their No. 3 ranked defenseman could certainly use more turnovers. Dallas is one of only two teams that have not yet recorded interceptions in 2018. In this case, the Cowboys had to see Thomas cook them twice in the third week.
Adding a hawk like Thomas in high school was a pretty good idea that the Cowboys were offering a lot before the start of the season.
the #Cowboys have increased their bid to a 2nd round pick in recent days … then bowed. They tried like crazy but were out. This ensured that Earl Thomas would stay in Seattle, which he announced on Instagram.

With the match against the Cowboys in the rear-view mirror, Seattle might be more willing to accept the same offer now.
Thomas, from Texas, entered the locker room after a game in December 2017 to talk to his coach Jason Garrett. Thomas told reporters that he told Garrett "when Seattle kicks me, please – the Cowboys – pick me up."
The coaches of the Cowboys seem to think that an agreement can be reached. Either that or they played with Thomas when they told him Sunday that an exchange was imminent.
Earl Thomas says he's worried about a trade that would take place this week. Said that he heard rumble during the week. Said even before the game, the cowboy coaches came to him and asked him if he was ready for trading tomorrow.

If Dallas wants to make an exchange, expect it to happen as soon as possible.
Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes is the real deal and chefs have good reason to dream. Super Bowl big.
The problem is that it's hard to trust their drab defense. The Chiefs allowed a total of 1,422 yards per game in three weeks and forced just two turnovers.
Continue to score about 40 points per week and this will not be a problem, but it's not realistic for a team. So, the rumor of week 3 that the chiefs were thinking of adding Thomas made a lot of sense.
Head coach Andy Reid seemed to put an end to this idea.
"I know the rumors are out there, but that's not where we are," Reid said the next day via ESPN.
If Kansas City decides to take Thomas, he will have two second-round picks in 2019, thanks to Marcus Peters's job.
Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons attack is back to score points, but the defense is lagging behind. The injuries inflicted on Keanu Neal, Deion Jones and Ricardo Allen are an important part of the issue and have undermined Atlanta's defense of much of its speed.
Before holding the position of head coach in Atlanta, Dan Quinn was a defense coordinator in Seattle for two years. These are two of Thomas' three seasons that ended with the first All-Pro title.
A meeting makes sense, even if the Falcons do not have much room to work or make additional selections. Maybe that's why Quinn has extinguished the flames before even igniting.
Quinn says that they are not planning on bringing someone from outside "into a start role" and that Kazee will be the initiator of the free security. #Falcons

Still, if the Falcons were successful, it would make them much more competitive in the tight race of the NFC South, especially after the signing of the security of free agents by Eric Reid.
Pittsburgh Steelers
This one is definitely a long shot, but Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com and Nick Wright of Fox Sports both proposed the idea of exchanging Thomas and LeVeon Bell.
Bell still has not reported to the Steelers after consecutive franchise labels have guaranteed him that he will be a free agent in 2019. His refusal to introduce himself has now opened the Steelers to the idea of an exchange. Bell is an elite and offensive weapon, but Pittsburgh has always been reluctant to invest a record amount in a U-turn.
The Steelers may be more willing to pay for elite security. The team made Troy Polamalu the highest paid security in the NFL and the Steelers' most paid player with a contract extension in 2007, and then reaped the benefits of the deal for years.
Pittsburgh is close to the bottom of the NFL in points and points, and needs better defensive play if he hopes to win another round in the playoffs.
The problem with the idea is that the Seahawks probably do not want to invest heavily in a U-turn just five months after choosing Rashaad Penny in the first round of the NFL draft in 2018.
The pioneers of an exchange are clearly the Cowboys and the Chiefs, if an agreement is reached.
