Mueller-Korenek rolled at the speed of takeoff from a big jet

For most people, the idea of traveling on the ground more than 180 km / h in an airplane other than the one preparing for takeoff causes nausea.

Denise Mueller-Korenek, it's fair to say that it's not most people.

The American woman reached an average speed of 183.932 mph (296.010 km / h) – cycling.

The remarkable speed means that the 45-year-old has not only broken his own world record, but also that of the men of long standing.

His reaction? Somewhat underestimated

"It was a crazy race at 183.9 mph, but it was well worth the sacrifice and the years spent to become the fastest human in the world," Mueller-Korenek said.

"We were not supposed to go over 175."

The feat of Mueller-Korenek allowed him to ride his custom-built bike through the Bonneville Saltworks, in Utah, on September 16th.

She had set the women's record – 147 mph – in 2016, and was apparently eyeing the record 167 mph set by Dutchman Fred Rompelberg in 1995.

And while she was following a race car driver in a dragster through the apartments, Mueller-Korenek made it easy to knock the disc down.

She has posted a video of the feat on her YouTube channel.

In order to reach her record speed, the former American track, road and mountain bike champion was pulled by a tow rope at 100 mph, before being released.

From then on, it was rolling in the wake of the dragster for 3.5 miles, reaching a record high of 183.9 mph on the last kilometer.

To put it in context, the Boeing 747 moves at about the same speed before leaving the runway during takeoff.

As a result of his feat, there are calls for Guinness World Records to cease listing men's and women's records for the event.
