Ebola detected near the Ugandan border, the Ministry of Health declares "No Ebola in Uganda"

Health authorities have reported a new confirmed case of Ebola virus disease in a village on the shores of Lake Albert on the border with Uganda.

This new confirmed case has been in contact with EVD in the city of Beni. Avoiding medical follow-up, including vaccination in Beni, the person was a refugee in the village of Kasenye, in the health zone of Tshomia, near Bunia, in the province of Ituri.

With this new case of Ebola, eight health districts in the DRC are currently affected by the current Ebola outbreak in the provinces of North Kivu and Ituri. This last confirmed case is about 200 km from the other closest case.

Today, the Ministry of Health of Uganda has informed its public that there was no confirmed case in the country. Read the press release RIGHT HERE

The latest figures from the Ministry of Health of the Democratic Republic of the Congo show that 147 cases of haemorrhagic fever were reported in the region, of which 116 were confirmed and 31 were probable.

Of the 116 confirmed, 68 died and 39 were cured.
