Eddie Jackson helps Chicago Bears show what they've learned

Security Eddie Jackson wanted the Chicago Bears to post their "new identity" on Monday night in their second prime time appearance in two games this season.

Last week, the Bears took a 20-point lead in the second half and lost 24-23 against the Green Bay Packers in Sunday night's game for the first week of the season, prompting Jackson to say:

Monday night, Chicago had a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter and although the Seattle Seahawks had two touchdowns in the last period, the Bears still won 24-17.

The cornerback of Chicago cornerback Prince Amukamara made a touchdown with a touchdown time of 6:37 for a 14-second touchdown, allowing Seattle's TD not to equalize the score.

Amukamara became the first player to interception for a touchdown off Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson in a regular season game since the first game of Wilson's career in 2012.

Jackson did his part with a complete statistics sheet. The former Alabama defender has made three tackles, recorded the first bag of his career in the NFL, smashed a pass and forced a fumble.

Jackson's bag came into play after an interception that allowed Seattle to play football on the 43-yard Chicago line in the second quarter. The possession turned into a punt for the Seahawks and left the Bears in the lead with a 7-0 lead.

In the final seconds of the first half, Jackson broke a deep pass from the Chicago 46.

Jackson pushed Lockett fumbling in the third quarter, but the ball went out of bounds, allowing Seattle to retain possession of the ball.

Jackson was one of seven players from high schools and colleges in Alabama on the teams' rosters:

  • Jordan Howard (Gardendale, UAB) started running for the Bears. He produced 35 yards on 14 rush attempts and caught three passes for 33 yards. While the Seahawks' defense made rushing yards difficult, Howard escaped on an 18-yard run against Seattle 6 in the first quarter to establish Chicago's first touchdown.
  • Cody Parker (Auburn), the Bears kicker, kicked a total of 25 yards and added three points. He also produced a touchdown on each of his five launches.
  • Jarran Reed (Alabama) started the Seahawks' defensive tackle and made two tackles.
  • Seahawks cornerback Neiko Thorpe (Auburn) played but did not produce any statistics.
  • Seahawks guard D.J. Fluker (Foley, Alabama) and defensive lineman Bears Nick Williams (Minor, Samford) have been designated inactive. Fluker missed both Seattle games this season due to a thigh problem.

While Chicago tied its record at 1-1, Seattle dropped to 0-2. On Sunday, the Bears visit the Arizona Cardinals and the Seahawks host the Dallas Cowboys.

Chicago Bears running back Jordan Howard will find space for an NFL game against the Seattle Seahawks on Monday, September 17, 2018, at Soldier Field in Chicago.
