Eddie Vedder joined former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr to cover indie rock song "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out" on Saturday at the Ohana Music Festival in Dana Point, California.

The singer of the Pearl Jam came on stage after a warm introduction. "I would like to take this opportunity to thank a good friend, someone whom I have admired and who has been for me and who is an inspiration," said Marr, welcoming Vedder on the stage to broadcast the Morrissey's melancholy song on the 1986 piece.

Vedder ordered the song, offering a more husky approach than Morrissey's softer tone on The queen is dead. Marr intervenes at the end with a short vocal track and Vedder finishes the performance with atmospheric vocalizations.

The singer-songwriter led the third installment of the three-day music festival. During his rehearsals, he recruited Liz Phair, another Ohana performer, for a refined and precise interpretation of Pearl Jam's "Better Jam".
