Ego Nwodim joins the cast of Saturday Night

Actress Ego Nwodim joins the cast for the 44th season of the show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Like most newcomers, Nwodim will be considered a "star" player in the series. She replaces Luke Null, who does not return after a year's stay.

Nwodim will debut on the screen during the season premiere.

Nwodim played a role at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in Los Angeles, where she presented her one-woman show, Great black women … and then there is me. She was also named new face at Just for Laughs in 2016 and has been produced at the CBS Diversity Showcase the same year.

Nwodim joins teammates Heidi Gardner and Chris Redd. Beck Bennett, Aidy Bryant, Michael Che, Pete Davidson, Mikey Day, Leslie Jones, Colin Jost, Kate McKinnon, Alex Moffat, Kyle Mooney, Cecily Strong and Melissa Villaseñor are among the current members.

SNL also added four new staff writers for the upcoming season, according toTHR.

Season 44 returns on September 29 with Adam Driver welcoming and Kanye West as a musical guest.
