PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A new mode of transportation may soon arrive in Philadelphia.
It's a lean and green electric machine called Lime Electric Scooters and very soon it looks like scooters will roll around Philadelphia.
The Line APP shows about two dozen electric scooters in Kensington.
"If the car and gas are not needed, that's it for me," said Jake Brower. "As long as we can keep it safe, everything is fine."
In some cities, scooters are called garbage because they are without airlock and can be left anywhere they are not used.
The company says that having no docks saves customers money, but some people we talked to do not want them to obstruct the sidewalks of cities.

"It will be chaotic, there will be nowhere to walk," said Katrina Stoute of Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
Fortunately, the Philadelphia City Council took the lead and passed an ordinance in June regulating scooters.
The city is not on board, Randy Lobasso is with the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia.
"They are really great for the last mile, so to speak," said Lobasso. "Get off a train, if you have to walk one kilometer to get to work, get on a scooter and take it instead." It is small and compact and easy to use.
The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia also claims that scooters must be mounted on the road and not on sidewalks. Eyewitness News has spoken to Lime about when people can expect to use scooters, but we are still waiting to be heard.
