Elon Musk has changed his mind about what he wants to call the spaceship the first private lunar passenger SpaceX will be traveling in.
the SpaceX The founder announced his decision to rename the BFR in Starship on Twitter late Monday.
In a later tweet, Musk explained that this would be the name of the spaceship itself. The rocket launcher that will help it "escape from the deep gravity well of Earth" will be called Super Heavy.
Technically, two parts: Starship is the spaceship / top floor and Super Heavy is the rocket booster needed to escape the deep gravity of the Earth (useless for other planets or moons).

The name change may have been caused by Musk's ambitions regarding the spacecraft, as he revealed to a user at odds with the new name:

MCT (2015) → ITS (2016) → BFR / BFS (2017-2018) → Spaceship (?)
