According to new plans filed with city officials, the Boring Company is building a car lift in the garage of an indefinable house near Los Angeles. The steel rod is designed to lower a vehicle up to a test tunnel that winds beneath the city of Hawthorne. And like jokes pointed out, the whole situation suggests that Elon Musk builds his own Batcave.

Obviously, the troubled billionaire does not really create a hideout where he can hide high tech weapons and a tactical combination designed to fight crime. According to the Los Angeles Times, this new car lift is just the latest in a series of tests of Boring's mission to create a network of underground roads that will fix Los Angeles's historic traffic jams. This is perhaps the most fantastic of the various companies and activities of Musk. That is why it seems surprising that he continues the experiments. It is also remarkable that Musk and the Boring Company hide this new futuristic infrastructure in the eyes of all.

Honestly, this house could not be more indefinable. Hawthorne, California is home to the Boring headquarters, but is also a mundane city near LAX Airport. The house is located on a residential street, W. 119th Place, and is close to Hawthorne Municipal Airport, home of SpaceX and Tesla Design Center. But beyond the proximity of some other Musk companies, there is nothing in this house that can distinguish it. It looks like a slum. The Boring Company bought it in January for $ 485,000 through a front company called Irma's Place. This price is rather low compared to what the surrounding houses are worth.

But Musk and the boring company are not interested in the house itself. They are mainly concerned with the garage and the ground below. According to the city's archives, they plan to dig the elevator shaft in the garage and connect it to an underground test track. It is also planned to build another larger garage behind the house, which will connect to the test track. Boring bought a nearby industrial building for $ 2 million. The company plans to transport the cutting head used to dig the test track. . Apparently, none of this will cause too much heckling.

"We will be completely contained in the garage," Brett Horton, senior director of facilities and construction for Boring Company and SpaceX, told city officials. "You will not be able to see or hear it."

The process of building all this has been unobtrusive so far. The company has installed security equipment for download, in anticipation of the construction and use of the elevator. Meanwhile, Musk recently announced that a two-mile-long test track under Hawthorne called "The Loop" will be open to the public on December 11, although he has made the announcement. idea of a public walk in May. The Boring Company has published images of this tunnel, which actually looks like a tunnel but, at least at the time this photo was taken, does not look like a runway for transporting vehicles at a maximum speed of 155 miles per hour.

We'll see if Musk and the Boring Company actually start offering people a tunnel in six weeks. Although the 47-year-old has the reputation of harassing rescuers and calling the SEC investigation, he has not kept all his promises. In the past, Musk said about Boring Company: "We do not know what we are doing." Which does not mean that it will fail! At the very least, Boring Company has released very cool and futuristic concept videos. He also sold a lot of flamethrowers for some reason.

If you let your mind wander a little, however, it does not matter if Boring Company manages to create a vast network of underground transport tunnels in cities like Los Angeles. This mission could be abandoned next year, but there would still remain in Musk at least one vast underground hideout concealed from public view by a dilapidated house and accessible by a car-sized elevator in its garage. Just imagine the possibilities.
