Elon Musk sets the production goal of Model 3

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has sent an e-mail to employees setting the production target of 1,000 Model 3 sedans per day by November 28, Electrek announced. This would give a production rate of 7,000 models 3 per week, since the Fremont factory in California, where Tesla manufactures the Model 3 runs seven days a week.

Business Insider acquired a copy of the email sent Thursday. Musk says in his email that he will monitor the Model 3 production line on November 27th and 28th.

"From the 28th, all production subsystems of Model 3 must be at 50+ stable UHD, which is necessary for a real rate of 1000 vehicles per day (taking into account the availability of equipment)", explains Musk.

Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Tesla initially struggled to achieve its production targets for Model 3, which she began manufacturing in the summer of 2017. In May 2016, Musk estimated that the manufacturer would manufacture between 100 000 and 200,000 models 3 in the second half of 2017, although Tesla only produces 2,685 models. Model 3 vehicles in 2017.

Musk acknowledged in April that Tesla had been attempting to automate too many production jobs in the Fremont factory and would use more human workers in the assembly process.

Tesla has improved its model 3 production rate in recent quarters. The automaker reached the late target of producing 5,000 models 3 in one week at the end of June and reached its production targets for model 3 in the third quarter, or 53,239 after having projected 50 000 and 55,000.

Musk, who has been criticized for his ambitious targets in model 3 production, declined to set a weekly production target when calling the third quarter results of Tesla. However, he said that to achieve a production rate of 7,000 models 3 per week, "minimum" expenditures would be needed.

On the 27th and 28th, I will go through the production line of model 3, from cells to finished vehicles.

As of 28, all production subsystems in Model 3 must be at 50+ UHD stable, which is necessary for a real rate of 1,000 vehicles per day (taking into account the availability of equipment ). To be clear, this includes all the lines of a particular subsystem, so, for example, the UPH general assembly would include the two GA3 plus GA4 lines.

If you do not see how to get there, please let me know as soon as possible so that I can help solve this problem. This is extremely important for our prosperity.

Thank you for kicking your ass,

Elon
