Eminem Suicide bomber maybe he stumbled on the No. 2 Billboard 200 this week, but the rapper has largely compensated with his last song, "Killshot". -hop video, with the third highest beginning of the music video in general.
"Killshot", released Friday, Sept. 14, stormed the door with a total of 38.1 million views in 24 hours, Display panel reports. The only two artists to lead this first figure are Taylor Swift, who watched 43.2 million times in August 2017; and BTS, whose "Idol" set the record for every YouTube debut with 45 million views last month.
It has been fruitful for two and a half weeks for Eminem. He won his ninth consecutive album on the Billboard 200 with Suicide bomber, that he dropped at the end of August. Two of the songs on the album, "Lucky You" and "The Ringer," debuted in the Billboard Hot 100 Top Ten, making Eminem the fifth artist to achieve such a feat behind Drake, J. Cole, Travis Scott and Ed Sheeran.
"Killshot" arrived after several episodes of Eminem's interview with Sway, during which he teased his response to Machine Gun Kelly. Eminem first dragged the 28-year-old Cleveland rapper on Suicide bomber "Not Alike" track, to which Kelly responded with his own diss piece, "Rap Devil."
Based on the first figures, Eminem seems to have won this meat by a landslide, which should not be surprising considering his status as a successful rapper of all time. This is not bad news for Kelly, however: "Rap Devil" debuted 13th in the Hot 100 this week, her second best placement behind Camila Cabello's collaboration "Bad Things," which peaked at fourth place in 2017. Perhaps the moderate success of the band will help mitigate the blow of being whistled relentlessly during his performance of "Rap Devil" when he opened for Fall Out Boy in Orlando on Sunday, Sept. 16. .
