After six seasons of Americans, Matthew Rhys finally got his Emmy win.
Rhys, 43, landed his first Emmy Award for an outstanding actor in a drama series Monday night – and the only person as excited as the actor was his girlfriend. Americans costar, Keri Russell.

Russell, who was also nominated for his role in the FX series, gave him a big kiss as soon as his name was announced as the lucky winner.
"Oh thanks, thank you very much," said the actor at the beginning of his speech, before joking, "I'll be brief, I was told to live all my life".
"Parts like these happen so rarely," he continued. "To all those who gave so much, who gave so much to this incredible journey … we had a cast and a team that you could only wish for in a fairy tale."
Referring to the son he shares with Russell, Rhys then thanked the actors and the crew who "by default … also gave me a son".

"And finally to the woman who really awarded me this award, who stands in front of me every day and supports me," he continued, adding that Russell did not want Rhys to be influenced by the decision Glenn Weiss to use his time on stage that night to propose to his girlfriend.
"She said," If you offer me, I'll hit you in your mouth, "he joked.
"Thanks, more to come," he added in a final note to Russell.
