FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – The SWAT clash with a man barricaded in a Fort Bend home ended after he was found dead inside the house on Tuesday morning.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff, Troy Nehls, said that after being unable to contact the suspect, SWAT has deployed several gas tanks inside the house.

In the absence of response, SWAT entered the house and found the dead suspect in a room on the floor just after 10:30.

The grandmother and a 2-year-old child, who were held hostage at home, are safe after they leave the house shortly after 8 am, while the suspect remains in the house.

The mother and grandfather of the child were also at home, but escaped before the arrival of deputies.

Earlier on Tuesday, around 4 am, a member was shot in the leg by a hostage hostage at the home in the Orchard Lake Estates neighborhood, a gated community near Grand Parkway and Highway 90.

The sheriff said it was a family dispute when a woman called 911 saying that her husband was threatening to kill her.

At one point, MPs entered the house, located on Lakeridge Canyon Drive, and exchanged shots before stepping back and waiting for the SWAT.

Nehls said the MP had been transported to a patrol unit to a nearby hospital.

The member was shot in the calf and was under evaluation.
