New 5G networks are coming in and big companies are spending a lot of money to deploy them.
Ericsson will provide T-Mobile with its latest new 5G and 3GPP radio equipment for $ 3.5 billion.
In moving from LTE Advanced to 5G, T-Mobile said it would use the Ericsson product portfolio to extend its existing LTE capacity while preparing the network for the 5G jump.
Ericsson's digital services, such as dynamic orchestration, business support systems and the Ericsson cloud core, will be used to help T-Mobile deploy its 5G services to its customers.

As Mobile World Congress Americas gets ready, many of these ads will air. Nokia and Sprint have already announced that they will present a demonstration of the new 5G radio connections and the Nokia Massive MIMO technology (multiple multiple-input outputs).
The new 5G networking technology promises to provide high-speed, high-reliability, low-power services in high-density areas with extremely low latency.
The partnership with Ericsson means that T-Mobile's already installed Ericsson Radio System base will be able to run 5G NR with a remote software installation.
