Europe achieved a historic performance at the Ryder Cup.
The home team made their first shutout since 1989 and their first sweep in four.

The Americans had taken the lead 3-1 after the opening session thanks to an unlikely breakup with a piece of wood, with Europe getting its only point by beating Tiger Woods.
Woods attended the afternoon foursome matches.
Tony Finau and Brooks Koepka were 1 in their four-ball match against Rose and Jon Rahm when Finau's starting shot at the 16th par 3 seemed to be short. Instead, he hit in the wooden frame separating the green from the water, shot high in the air and landed 3 feet from the hole for a birdie at the equation of the match.
Rose hit the water on the 18th to make a bogey, and Koepka got a pair for a 1-up win. The United States led the game only to victory.
The Americans took the start they wanted before the European public, which came out in numbers and filled the huge stand that welcomes a little less than 7,000 spectators around the first tee.

Fleetwood birdied 12-hole back-to-back birdies and then made a 15-foot birdie putt on the 15th to take the lead. He followed with a 35-foot birdie putt, squatting to watch as he entered the cup. Molinari closed it with a birdie on the 17th.
Spieth and Thomas, teammates again in France, took control of their four-ball match as soon as Spieth scored putts and chips. Paul Casey rallied with three birdies in a row to catch the match before Thomas shot a shot over the water at 6 feet on the 15th for a birdie.
Spieth and Thomas, whose friendship took root when they played in the United States at the Evian Junior Masters in 2007, led the race at the end. Tyrrell Hatton missed a 20-foot birdie attempt on the 18th and Spieth scored his 3-by-putt for a 1-up victory.
Johnson and Fowler had the easiest match of the morning, thanks in part to a flat performance by McIlroy, who did not contribute to the same bird playing alongside Danish rookie Thorbjorn Olesen.
Johnson missed a 5-foot bet to fall from 1 to 8 holes. Fowler gave the Americans their first lead with a birdie on the 10th and Johnson managed to get the following 3 holes. Johnson, world No. 1, finished the 4 and 2 victory with a short start on 16 for the birdie.
