Every photo of the first Meghan Markle Royal Accommodation Event

Prince Harry took care to follow several steps behind Meghan throughout the event, chatting with guests and proudly watching his wife take center stage.

One of the cooks promised to put food aside for the royal couple, and Meghan told him, "Oh, thank you, I'll take this house and take it for dinner."

The trio, who stood with their arms next to each other, went around four food stations. The duchess was standing behind a table grill to help cook while her mother and husband looked at each other proudly.

Meghan joined the women of Hubb's community kitchen and created a meal of coconut chicken curry, aubergine masala and chapatis at Kensington Palace.

While browsing the tables of salad, chapatis and kebabs from kofta, Doria asked the cooks about the ingredients, listening carefully to the herbs and spices described.

Baroness Gail Rebuck, president of publisher Penguin Random House, told Doria that she must feel "very proud" of the Duchess of Sussex and her work on the cookbook.

"Head on heels," said the proud mother.

At the first stop, Ahlam Saeid showed a huge bowl of green rice.

"Oh, I love it," Doria said. "That was the first thing I asked about [after learning of the cookbook]. "

Meghan laughed by adding fresh mint and olive oil to the dish.

The dessert included a caramelized plum cake and a spicy mint tea.

Meghan showed off her cooking skills, returning chapatis with confidence and turning koftas on the grill.

Meghan wrote the preface to the book, which features recipes from a group of women whose community was affected by the Grenfell Tower fire, in which more than 70 people died.

In the meantime, Meghan said that the Hubb (which means love in Arabic) "is a place where women can laugh, cry, cry and cook together. Fusion of cultural identities under a shared roof. . . creates a space to feel a sense of normalcy – in its simplest form, the universal need to connect, feed and commune through food, crisis or joy – something we can all refer to .

The cookbook recipes will help the kitchen stay open and expand its reach.

Meghan shared a group hug with two of the women from the community kitchen, smiling and kissing them together.

The Duchess of Sussex made her first public address as a member of the royal family at the end – and she did not fail to beat even without notes! Prince Harry and his mother looked proudly from the side as Meghan spoke for three minutes of how the women of Hubb's community kitchen had greeted her soon after arriving in London.

"I said in the preface that it's more than a cookbook and what I mean by that is that the power of food is more than just meal itself. This is the story behind it. When we learn the story of the recipe, you get to know the person behind it, "said Meghan. "That's what we're talking about in terms of getting together to really engage and talk, and be able to celebrate what connects us rather than what divides us. That, I believe, is the philosophy of Together."

During the speech, Prince Harry and Ragland exchanged a smile, clearly proud of Meghan's work.

Doria then kissed each of the women with a warm hug by telling them, "It's amazing. I'm just as excited as you.

Speaking of her daughter's cooking experience, Doria said, "She felt a lot at home. I am so happy to be able to put the face on the recipes. I'll tell everyone, I met her [each of the cooks]! I'm going to do everything, I'm serious.

Meghan also shared a smile with a girl during the event.
