Spider-Man of PS4 makes dozens of references to stories, allies and enemies of comics from wall robots. There are a lot of traces during the last moments of the game, which all seem to point to a specific series of comics.
Although Insomniac has not confirmed any connection, most Spider-Man characters are similar to their counterparts in Ultimate spider man comic books. In contrast to previous stories that used radiation and pseudoscience as the basis for how the Spider-Man and Rascals Gallery of Super Villains was created, Ultimate spider man takes a more modern approach and uses splicing, DIY and genetic degradation as an origin story for its heroes and villains. The comic book debuted in October 2000 and lasted nearly 11 years, making it the second longest continuous Marvel series created by just two people.
As Ultimate spider man, Spider-Man of PS4 gives Peter Parker a broader background in science and math, making it a prodigy of engineering. Mary Jane is also the first to discover that Peter and Spider-Man are the same person. Many other characters have similar personalities and appearances to their Ultimate counterparts too, including Aunt May, Rhino, Shocker, Kingpin, and more.
Certainly, some characters in the game do not match their Ultimate spider man counterparts. The vulture of Spider-Man is Amazing Spider-ManAdrian Toomes, and not UltimateThat's Blackie Drago. The vulture costume is similar in the game as in the comics, as well as the poor health of Toomes (it is not at the beginning Ultimate because he dies of a disease). There are, however, enough similarities to use Ultimate spider man to help dissect the last scenes of the game.

Spoiler Alert: The rest of this article discusses Spider-Man's late, mid-generic and post-credit scenes, as well as the main plot points of the Ultimate Spider-Man comics.
The Ending: a new ally
Many things are happening in the last moments of Spider-Man, but one of the most surprising developments is the departure of Silver Sable. After being highlighted in the promotional material of the game, Silver Sable plays a minor role in the story. She runs the private military force hired by Norman Osborn to maintain order in the city, but after getting warmed up at Spider-Man, she goes away. Moments before the final battle, she calls Peter to tell her that she has gone home and we never see her again. It's strange that she was included in the game with the minor role that she plays.
It changes if this Silver Sable is inspired by it Ultimate counterpart. In UltimateSilver Sable is at first one of Spider-Man's bad guys, but only because she was hired to track him down. She respects the crawler and tolerates it when a job needs to be done. More importantly, Silver Sable and Spider-Man finally team up Ultimate, and it is to win Venom in the bow "Symbiotic War".
The Spider-Man post-credits scene reveals that the origin of Venom may be on the horizon, giving more credence to the prediction that Silver Sable will return to New York. Silver Sable may have been introduced in this game so that Spidey and her can work together to track down Venom in a future expansion or sequel.
The mid-credit scene: Peter's successor
In the middle scene of Spider-Man, Miles reveals to Peter that his body undergoes some changes before showing that he can stay on the ceiling. Peter gets up immediately to join him to reveal that he is Spider-Man. It's a touching moment, almost fraternal.
Miles Morales was introduced in 2011 Ultimate Falloutwhich links in Ultimate spider manthe final arc. Like Peter, he is bitten by a genetically improved spider from Oscorp's lab. This gives Miles powers similar to Peter, including the ability to stick to walls, strength and reflexes, and an improved sixth sense. However, Miles is bitten by another species of spider, so he finds himself with some extra powers. Miles is not as strong as Peter, but he can emit a paralyzing venom with his fingertips and camouflage himself on almost any surface, making him invisible.
We will have to wait and see if Miles has inherited all the powers he has Ultimatebut the fact that he has powers could foreshadow a dark future. In UltimateMiles becomes a superhero to honor Spider-Man after New York watches Peter Parker gave up his life to stop the Green Goblin in the bow "Death of Spider-Man". There is no guarantee that Insomniac is moving towards this story, but the post-credit scene suggests the rise of Green Goblin. In the final battle of the game, Peter is also stabbed to be able to stop Dr. Octopus and save those he loves, so it's not that hard to imagine sacrificing himself in a future match .
The post-credit scene: two new enemies
As noted earlier, the post-generic Spider-Man scene suggests two possible supervillains appearing in Peter's future: Venom and Green Goblin. There is a lot to unpack in this final scene, including the fate of Harry Osborn. Earlier in the game, Peter and Mary Jane learned that Harry had not gone abroad for a vacation but that he had left the country to receive intensive treatment for a genetic disease. In the post-generic scene, we discover that Harry did not even go away. His father keeps him in a tank full of green liquid.
This green liquid is probably OZ. In Ultimate spider manNorman Osborn develops goo verte as an experimental drug that strengthens strength, reflexes and intelligence. It has not completely managed to keep the substance stable, and so it tests the drug on other animals, one being spiders. When spiders sting Peter and Miles, they transfer the drug to a less volatile state, which is why Peter and Miles are improved without deforming. Perhaps in the continuity of the game, Norman has developed OZ to strengthen his son and stabilize his genetic condition. However, this is clearly not enough because Norman also has a dark substance surrounding Harry that seems to keep him alive in a suspended animation. The black canvas reacts to Norman when she detects the presence of the man. This is perhaps what prevents the OZ from mutating.
In Ultimate spider man, the symbiote is not an extraterrestrial, but an apparently living artificial costume. Its main purpose is to cure cancer by strengthening the immune system of the host organism and giving it superhuman levels of strength and endurance. Maybe – just like the OZ – Norman builds the costume for his son, and the suit – a bit like his Ultimate counterpart – wants more human beings to feed in order to strengthen their host. If the hunger of the combination for more humans is strong enough, or if it feeds on the ZT, it could take Harry out of his tank and turn him into a black monster that pushes Silver Sable and Spidey to work together.
If that's the case, stopping the suit would kill Harry, because it seems like it's the only thing that keeps him alive. The loss of his wife and son would probably lead Norman to madness and drive him to take revenge on Spider-Man, whom he would see as a murderer. If Norman ingested OZ unfiltered, then as his Ultimate in return, he would turn into a monstrous green goblin. His war against Spider-Man could lead Peter to give up his life to save the city and pave the way for Miles to become the neighborhood's next development robot. Insomniac has already proven that he is ready to kill major characters – like Aunt May – to tell a moving story, thus killing Peter at the end of Spider-Man 2 so that Miles is the protagonist of Spider-L & # 39; Man 3 is not so exaggerated.
But of course, these are just speculations based on the information we can get from the last scenes of Spider-Man. We would like to hear what you all think. Once again, not all Spider-Man characters follow the same rhythms as Ultimate spider man so Insomniac could inspire from a completely different comic book – Unbelievable, Spectacular, or Brand new, all different– or create a completely unique scenario. What kind of future do you think of the final scenes of Spider-Man? Leave your answers in the comments below.
Spider-Man is currently only available for the PS4. We loved it and gave the game a 9/10 in our review. Insomniac revealed that the game would receive a new Game Plus mode in the future, as well as a three-part expansion of the DLC titled The City That Never Sleeps.
