If you have a little one at home, you may want to think twice before putting it in one of these trotters. They could seriously hurt your child.
A new study from the journal Pediatrics indicates that from 1990 to 2014, more than 230,000 children under the age of 15 months were treated in emergency wards for injuries.
91% of the injuries involved the head or neck and 30% were concussions or fractures of the skull.
According to the study, about three quarters of them come from children walking up the stairs. There are also falls from the walker and wounds that occurred when the walker gave the child access to things that could hurt them, such as burns when touching a hot appliance.
The American Academy of Pediatrics calls for a ban on baby walkers in the United States.
Reports show that eight children were killed in connection with walkers from 2004 to 2008.
Doctors at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus say parents should not buy walkers, but if you have one, remove the wheels and throw them away.
The best option is a stationary activity center that gives mobility to the child but has no wheels.
