WASHINGTON – Five months after a girl was seriously injured by electric shock at the MGM national port, her family is considering suing.
According to the lawsuit, Zynae Green has brain damage, can not walk or talk, and stays in an acute care facility in Baltimore.
The complaint against MGM, which is expected to be filed Monday, was obtained by WJZ-TV from Baltimore and other media.
He claims negligence and seeks an unspecified amount.
Green, who has just turned seven this weekend, was shocked and found to be in cardiac arrest after touching a light ramp at Prince George County, Maryland's resort. the end of June.
According to the lawsuit, the girl was hit with 120 volts of electricity, or 10 times the amount needed to light the ramp.
The lawsuit says a report from county safety inspectors who discovered faulty wiring in a device to control the flow of electricity.
According to the lawsuit, at least two members of Green's family were injured and spent several days in the hospital.
In a statement, MGM called the incident a "tragic accident".
"We are all sorry that Zynae Green and her family continue to suffer," the company said. "We are determined to continue working with the family representative to reach a resolution."
The company said the report that blamed the faulty wiring was "very disturbing and disappointing" and showed that the "high standards" that MGM expects from its subcontractors were not met.
"We do not compromise safety when building our facilities," the company said.
