Before turning to the sleeper recommendations of week 12, here's a look at how the Week 11 choices went.
I hope there is a thing or two to be grateful for here. Otherwise, I will drown my sorrows in the rest of the pie.
Dak Prescott, quarterback, Dallas Cowboys (208 yards, five yards, one touchdown): Prescott did not have a terrible match. Or even a bad one. But Sunday's game with the Atlanta Falcons ended in a score much lower than most (including myself) expected. LOSS
Eli Manning, quarterback, New York Giants (231 passing yards, two touchdowns): There have been weeks this season where this relatively modest line of statistics would have been enough to rank in the top 12. Unfortunately, it was not one of those weeks. LOSS
Marcus Mariota, QB, Tennessee Titans (85 yards passing, 17 yards rushing, one INT): My first two QB recommendations were near misses. This one was a disaster. The week does not start well. Pass the pie. LOSS
Peyton Barber, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (18 races, 106 yards, two catches, four yards, one touchdown): The quarterbacks may have been a disaster, but Barber certainly has not been. He finished among the top 10 markers in some scoring systems. TO WIN
Theo Riddick, RB, Detroit Lions (one run, zero yards, five catches, 30 yards): I thought the Lions would be in catch-up mode for much of the match against Carolina. Instead, the jolts actually won the dang. It's just rude. No more pie, please. LOSS
Anthony Miller, WR, Chicago Bears (two catches, 25 yards, one touchdown): Miller was not as involved in the Sunday night pass as I hoped, but he found the goal zone in the win over the Vikings. This brought him to the interior of the WR3 territory. TO WIN
DJ Moore, WR, Carolina Panthers (seven catches, 157 yards, one touchdown): It's hard to trust Moore every week, given the diversity of his targets, but he has the highest cap of any Charlotte player. TO WIN
Tre Quan Smith, WR, Saints of New Orleans (10 receptions, 157 yards, one TD): Not wanting to boast or anything, but two of my big sleeper receivers in the 11th week were among the top five fantasy options for the week. Toot freaking toot. TO WIN
Jeff Heuerman, TE, Denver Broncos (four catches, 20 yards): Another close call, another miss. Look at things this way. I tell you what extremes you should not start in a given week. You are welcome. LOSS
Arizona Cardinals Defense / Special Teams (325 yards allowed, 23 points allowed, four sacks): In one way or another, the Cardinals managed to do what most people thought impossible: play worse than the Raiders. In the news, Arizona's defense is dead for me. LOSS
WEEK 7: 4-6 (.400)
SEASON: 48-62 (.436)
I calmed down a bit over the last few weeks, but three of the four players I met were not only correct, but remarkable. Smith and Moore in particular have published the type of statistics line that allows you to gain weeks by replacing.
