Fantasy Football Believe it or not: can you trust Browns or Jaguars?

The ninth week is approaching and the first Byenado of the season is accompanied. Six teams are not on schedule and difficult alignment decisions need to be made. It starts in Jacksonville.

You can drop Carlos Hyde and T.J. Yeldon.

Carlos Hyde's debut with the Jaguars was disappointing, to say the least. He ran the ball six times for 11 yards. As bad as it was, there were four more races and 4 more yards than T.J. Yeldon picked up on the floor. Yeldon saved his day with a solid performance in the passing game, but I'm not sure how many times we can count on Jacksonville playing from behind.

It sounds like a full committee until Leonard Fournette returns, which could be as early as the 10th week. There is no reason to keep Hyde or Yeldon in a 12-team league.

Verdict: Believe it.

In fact, there is no player on this team other than Fournette who I suggest to hang on to. I expect this defense to be healthy during the departure, and Fournette should be with them. There will be rare occasions when Yeldon sees enough work in the passing game to be relevant in PPR, but I would not bet to guess what week it will be.

Perhaps the best test for determining if a person is at fault is the popularity of these waivers. Do you see looking for Hyde or Yeldon during a week off? I doubt it.

It is time to add DJ Moore.

Or maybe if you had the wisdom to remember it, it's time to gloat a little. Because the rookie receiver of the Panthers arrives strong. After seeing only four targets in the first three weeks of the season, Moore became alive after the start. In the eighth week, he scored six career goals and turned them into five catches for 90 yards. He also ran the ball twice for 39 yards.

Moore is now at least 67 yards total in three of his last four games. He was tied at the top of the team for the goals of Week 8. All signs point to a push in the second half, and he is available in 85% of the leagues. This should change significantly when waivers are in effect.

Verdict: Believe it.

You can not trust this Browns offense.

Hue Jackson is not the only person frustrated with his offensive performance. It also makes Fantasy owners crazy. Baker Mayfield has teased us with his tantalizing potential, but he has only gone over 20 Fantasy points once in seven games. Nick Chubb was released with the trade of Carlos Hyde, but his lack of involvement in the passing game makes him still dependent on the touchdown. Jarvis Landry still sees a ton of goals, but he has the lowest catch rate among players with at least 62 goals. And do not even get me started on Njoku.

I have clearly abused this offense in the preseason, and there is no reason to trust him until he can prove otherwise.

Verdict: Do not believe it.

I understand your frustration, I really understand it. But you do not want to think about it too much. They will have the Chiefs in the 9th week. They will face the Falcons in the 10th week. This is not the time to jump from the Browns' train, at least not stars.

Chubb will face a defense this week that has just yielded 173 rushing yards to Phillip Lindsay and Devontae Booker. Landry is going to see double-digit targets, so you can not sit on them. And Njoku is a close end. How much can you really trust? I could understand the spill if you could find a better option, even for Mayfield. But with six teams on leave and the Browns facing one of the league's most generous defenses, you have to defend your Browns.

Doug Martin and Jalen Richard are bootable.

The Raiders are one of the worst teams in the league and feel like playing from behind for most of the year. It seems odd that they have two starting halves in Fantasy. But now they do it.

Martin looked good until groping, running more than 5 yards per race behind an offensive line that was finally heading in the right direction. Richard has captured eight more passes once the team has fallen behind and now has the fifth all-out reception.

These two backs are solid flexible games each week that look more like No. 2 low-end with all these teams waiting.

Verdict: Believe it.

Martin is not a start, but it seems that he will earn you six to eight points most weeks and that he will get the total work if the Raiders find themselves in this situation. He still has good matches in his schedule and no one can be challenged for work early in the race.

Richard is a good start in PPR, this script is the one we are going to see a lot in Oakland. He has achieved 86% of his goals this season and led the team with a target of 28% in his team's first game without Amari Cooper.

Start both in the 9th week.

Larry Fitzgerald is back.

Byron Leftwich did not really give us the Bruce Arians experience that he had promised, but he made get Fitzgerald involved. Fitzgerald saw 12 targets peak in the season and looked like his old man (no pun intended). He captured eight of those goals for 102 yards and his second touchdown of the year. More importantly for Leftwich, the team won. I would expect more of the same in the future, so Fitzgerald will be a key receiver after his departure.

Verdict: Believe it.

You do not want to create too much data for a week, but a 34% target share is a good sign. It also makes sense, because that's what the Cardinals did before Mike McCoy. Over the past three years, Fitzgerald has had at least 141 targets and at least 101 receptions each year. It is too far behind this pace to match these numbers this year, but that is the pace I would expect.
