More week 1
Editor's Note: Welcome to the first week! We take care of Jamey Eisenberg & # 39; s Start & Em & Sit & # 39; Em column a little different this season. You always get the same in-depth analysis as ever, we only present a little differently, in order to let you know earlier in the day. This column takes a long time to write, and in the past, we've talked about it in the evening. This year, we will publish it position by position to put it more quickly in your hands. Here are the tight shots, kicks and Jamey's DST for this week.
Do not worry: if you want the classic Start Em & Sit Em, we will always publish this at the end of the day with every post included. For now, here are the tight ends, the kickers and the DSTs.
Tight ends
Note: Projections are provided by SportsLine.
Earrings
- Eric Ebron (vs. CIN): I love both of Colts' tight ends this week with Ebron and Jack Doyle, and Andrew Luck should be relying on these guys as the main targets behind TY Hilton Rookie Jessie Bates could be Someone on whom luck will try to win in case of coverage, and the Bengals will be without linebacker Vontaze Burfict (suspension). Ebron could be very strong in his first game with the Colts at home.
- Antonio Gates (vs. KC): Gates is back with the Chargers to replace Hunter Henry (ACL), and he should benefit if Berry is out. He will likely have to score to help your Fantasy team and has made two touchdowns in his last three games against the Chiefs.
- Dallas Goedert (vs. ATL): With Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) on the outside, the Eagles need to be creative and use two tight sets with Zach Ertz and Goedert. He had a strong pre-season with nine catches for 149 yards and one touchdown and is worth using as a streaming option in the deeper leagues.
Bust alert
Engram should play this week after suffering a concussion during the pre-season and we can finally see what the Giants' attack looks like when everyone is in good health. We have not yet seen Engram on the field with Odell Beckham, Sterling Shepard and Saquon Barkley at the same time, and that is what worries me for Engram this year because he should be fighting for achieve its goals. And in a tough match against the Jaguars on the road, you might consider other options. It's hard to control Engram because it's probably your only tight end of the game, but it's likely to have minimal production against Jacksonville this week.
Defense / Special Teams
To start
Lions (vs. NYJ) – 12.1 points projected
Throughout the summer, I said I had to prepare the LST DST for their home-away-week game against the Jets, and I hope they will deliver quality performance. It's a great situation for them against Darnold during his first NFL start on the road in a prime time match. We'll see how he handles the pressure, and Lions defense was not really brilliant in the pre-season. But I expect this DST to be one of the top 10 units for Week 1. And last year, the Lions started the season with at least 14 fantastic points in each of their first four. games.
Earrings
- Falcons (at PHI): I think the Falcons DST will be a separate candidate for the position this year, and this has become a favorable clash for the Week 1 unit. With Carson Wentz (knee) and Jeffery, Philadelphia could have trouble moving the ball, and Nick Foles does not look good in the pre-season. Maybe Foles recreated his post-season magic last year, but his worst playoff game was against Atlanta when he spent 246 yards without touching or intercepting in a win. from 15-10. I trust the Falcons DST this week.
- Titans (at the MIA): We'll see how Ryan Tannehill makes his first real match since Week 14 of the 2016 season, but Tennessee's defense could be tough on him. The DST Titans closed last season on a positive note with 12 Fantasy points in four of their last six games, and the defense should be improved under new coach Mike Vrabel. It should be a good week to trust the Titans, even on the road.
- Packers (vs. CHI): This will be Trubisky's first trip to Lambeau Field, and we'll see how he will perform in a tough stadium in a prime time game. The Packers fired Trubisky five times during their only meeting last year in Chicago, and despite the Bears' reworked attack, the Packers DST is a good game for Week 1.
Sit Em
Texans (NE) – 5.9 points planned
DST Texan is expected to be back in the lead this season with J.J. Watt and Whitney Mercilus in good health, as well as the addition of Tyrann Mathieu. But it could be a difficult week to trust them against the Patriots on the road. Although we have seen New England slow down before starting, and that there is a lot of rotation with this offensive offensive line, field and receiver, it's still going against Tom Brady in his building. If the Texans DST is the only one on your Fantasy team and you can not afford to have another option, then just take your chances and see what happens. But I'm not confident in the high-level Texans DST this week.
Kicker
To start
The last time Crosby faced the Bears was at Week 10 last year, and he made 3 goals out of 4, including one for 50 yards and two more points. He played in this match without Rodgers, so the attack should be better this time and Las Vegas has this game among the highest totals of the week with 48 points. Most points should come from Green Bay, and Crosby is in good pre-season with 6 of the 6 goals scored in the field. If you have not bought Crosby this season with Rodgers, there is still time to add it and throw it into all the leagues for week 1.
Earrings
- Adam Vinatieri (vs. CIN): Like Crosby with Rodgers, Vinatieri will take advantage of Luck's injury and it's worth starting this week against the Bengals. Last year, despite the attack with Luck out, Vinatieri still achieved the 15 goals he has attempted at home, including two shots over 50 yards.
- Graham Gano (vs. DAL): Gano was great at home in 2017, making 16 field goal attempts at Bank of America Stadium. He was also 8 out of 8 on field goals last September. Hopefully, it will remain perfect this week against Dallas, and I think the Panthers' offense will be explosive in this game, leading to many points.
- Ryan Succop (at MIA): Succop did not do much on last year's trip to Miami, scoring only one goal in the field and one more point in week 5. But he should do better in the return match. Last year, Succop had an outstanding start to the season with 10 goals and eight more points in their first three games. I'm still counting on another series of successes in 2018.
Sit Em
Elliott scored three field goals against the Falcons in the playoffs last year at home, even though he missed his only extra point. He could finish with about nine Fantasy points again in the rematch, but the Eagles' offense could be struggling this week with Wentz and Jeffery and Foles. The Foles did not perform well in pre-season, and this offense could be detrimental to a good defense of Falcons without Wentz.
