More than 2 weeks
The level of excitement of Week 1 of the NFL was dampened by the injuries and the absence of The Veon Bell because of its contractual dispute. And even though it's only week 2, many Fantasy owners are already in survival mode trying to present their best queues.
We suffered major injuries in the first week, including two of the first 10 tight ends on injured reserve – Delanie Walker (ankle) and Greg Olsen (foot). Aaron Rodgers (knee) was also injured and we do not know his status for week 2.
Leonard Fournette (hamstring) could also be out during the second week, as well as Devonta Freeman (knee). And Doug Baldwin (knee) is also missing for several weeks, with Marquise Goodwin (thigh) and Davante Adams (shoulder) struggling with persistent injuries.
The good news is that there are quality replacement options that you hope to add to the waiver thread. James Conner was already an exceptional replacement for Bell, and you should have picked up T.J. Yeldon in case Fournette came out.
Tyrod Taylor and Case Keenum can help if Rodgers can not play, and Quincy Enunwa, Chris Godwin and Kenny Golladay are fantastic options for the receiver to replace Baldwin, as well as Brandon Marshall and Tyler Lockett. By the end of the match, Jared Cook and Eric Ebron could soften the blow of Walker and Olsen, although it could be a stretch.
We hope you will find success in the second week if the first week does not suit you, but remember that the season is long. You can bounce from a 0-1 start and still make Fantasy playoffs.
Just be smart with your alignment decisions, and we'll help you as much as possible. There are many good players with great games this week and we'll help you find the best players to give you a chance to win.

Beginning of the week
If, as the cliché says, the house is the heart, Pittsburgh is where Fantasy players like Ben Roethlisberger. And they like it a lot at Heinz Field.
In his last 19 home games in the past three seasons, he has failed to score at least 20 fantastic points twice. He has an average of 27.9 fantasy points over this period and he has nine games with at least 30 points.
Let's hope these screaming numbers continue this week.
Roethlisberger is expected to rebound after his first week of work in Cleveland, while he completed only 56.1% of his passes for 335 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions, as well as two fumbles. In addition to being at home, he has a fantastic match against the Chiefs.
Philip Rivers has just abused Kansas City for 424 passing yards, three touchdowns and one interception, and the Chiefs' defense should fight against good pass attacks throughout the season. While the Steelers could rely on Conner this week, I'm still waiting for a great performance from Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster.
You will have to keep an eye on Roethlisberger with his bruised elbow, which seems to be minor, and obviously if his status is cloudy on Sunday's approach, you should find another fantasy quarterback. We will also have to find another start of the week.
But I am confident that Roethlisberger is playing at home. He should have the chance to participate in a big day of the second week against the Chiefs.
I start Roethlisberger: Aaron Rodgers (vs. MIN), Tom Brady (JAC), Russell Wilson (CHI), Kirk Cousins (GB) and Cam Newton (ATL)

Earrings
- Tyrod Taylor (on NO): The Saints allowed Ryan Fitzpatrick to score 49 points in Fantasy and Taylor scored 24 points against Pittsburgh, mainly with 77 rushing yards and a touchdown. In a situation where the Browns might be chasing points on the road, I love Taylor as a great streaming option this week.
- Case Keenum (vs. OAK): Keenum made his Fantasy debut with the Broncos in the first week against Seattle with 25 Fantasy points, and he is expected to continue this performance against the Raiders this week. Oakland must travel a week after playing Monday night, and Jared Goff scored 21 points against that defense. There are many things to love about Keenum this week.
- Nick Foles (to TB): Before you start laughing, think about the seriousness of this problem with Brent Grimes (groin). While Drew Brees beat them for 439 passing yards and three touchdowns, we found that the Foles left with decent production in what could be their last start if Carson Wentz (knee) is healthy the week next. In two-quarter leagues, Foles is a Hail Mary game if you need help at quarterback.
Bust alert
I know you're probably not sitting in the majority of leagues, even in this tough match. And he just defended in the AFC championship game last year and managed 290 yards and two touchdowns. But Jacksonville's pass will test that reshaped offensive line, even more than Houston last week when it passed 277 yards, three touchdowns and one interception and was sacked twice. He is on the road and the Jaguars think they should have won this game last year to qualify for the Super Bowl. It will be a fun match to watch, but Brady should have a hard time having a dominant performance. If you can afford to sit it down, this may be the right choice to make.
Run
Note: Projections are provided by SportsLine.com.
Earrings
- Alfred Morris (vs. DET): The Lions defense was disastrous in the first week against the Jets, who had a total of 188 yards and two touchdowns in the first week. Morris had more litters than Matt Breida in Week 1 in Minnesota and, more importantly, more chances in the red zone. I like both 49ers competing against Detroit, but give Morris the advantage over Breida this week.
- Austin Ekeler (at BUF): Ekeler was excellent in tandem with Melvin Gordon in the first week against the Chiefs, and he finished the game with five passes for 39 yards and five catches for 87 yards and a touchdown. It will probably not be as productive against the Bills, although the Ravens have just won three touchdowns against Buffalo in Week 1. Ekeler is a solid flex game in all leagues this week.
- James White (JAC): As expected, White played well in the first week against Houston with five runs for 18 yards, four catches for 38 yards and one touchdown on the team's nine best targets. Julian Edelman (suspension) should get involved again in the pass game and in the AFC championship game against Jacksonville last year, the Patriots caught 10 passes for 54 yards from Lewis and White. White is a key PPR of Week 2 and a strong flex in the non-PPR leagues.
- Bilal Powell (vs. MIA): Isaiah Crowell was the star of the Jets championship for the first week in Detroit with 10 runs for 102 yards and two touchdowns, including a 62-yard run. Powell had more hits with 12 carries for 60 yards and a shot for 5 yards, and he's still the best game of this duo of halves. I love both flex options this week against Miami, but I would be leaning towards Powell considering his expected role in the passing game. If the Jets are late this week, Powell will see a lot of work.
- Tevin Coleman (vs. CAR): We'll see what happens with Devonta Freeman (knee) this week, but if he can not go or suffer a setback during the game, Coleman would be a fantastic option. He scored in the first week in Philadelphia after Freeman was injured, and he usually succeeds when Freeman misses the time. Now, if Freeman is well, we do not recommend playing Coleman, so keep an eye on his status before the start of the game.
Bust alert
Freeman should play this week against the Panthers, despite a knee injury, but we do not know he'll be 100% in a tough match. The Panthers gave Ezekiel Elliott a touchdown in the first week, but he only managed 15 runs for 69 yards and three catches for 17 yards, which is a low line compared to Elliott's. Freeman had nine passes for 85 yards and a touchdown against Carolina in the 17th week, but he has less than 60 rushing yards in four straight games against the Panthers in the past two seasons. If Freeman were 100% healthy, you should start it without hesitation. But playing at a lower level in a difficult match makes him a flexible player during the second week.
Wide receivers

Earrings
- Kenny Golladay (at SF): The Lions definitely introduced Golladay at Week 1 against the Jets with seven catches for 114 yards on 12 targets, who were second in the team behind Golden Tate (15). I love Tate as Detroit's No. 1 catcher this week, but I would play Golladay on Marvin Jones.
- Chris Godwin (vs. PHI): I was excited for Godwin before the season and he had a good week 1 against New Orleans with three catches for 41 yards and one touchdown on four targets. He was overshadowed by DeSean Jackson, who caught five passes for 146 yards and two touchdowns on five targets, but Jackson (concussion) could be missing this week. If this happens, Godwin is a potential starter in all leagues.
- Tyler Lockett (at CHI): Lockett has a slight advantage over Brandon Marshall this week, although both are sleeping with Doug Baldwin (knee) on the outside. The Bears were abused by Randall Cobb the first week, and Lockett should also be successful. He also had three catches for 59 yards and one touchdown on three targets in Denver.
- Ted Ginn (vs. CLE): Ginn had only 19 points in PPR in the first week against Tampa Bay and has now scored at least 14 points in five out of eight home games with the Saints. He gets a boost with Cameron Meredith still not a factor in the attack, and New Orleans should have the chance to have a lot of points in this home game.
- Cooper Kupp (vs. ARI): Kupp was tied in the lead for the first week in Oakland with nine points, and was again in the red zone on his 8-yard touchdown in the third quarter. He finished with five passes for 52 yards and the score, and he should do well this week, as he will avoid cornerback Cardinals Patrick Peterson in the bowling. Brandin Cooks is also in play this week as Fantasy catcher, and Robert Woods is option # 3.
Bust alert
Cobb was incredible in the first week against Chicago with nine passes for 142 yards and one touchdown on 10 targets, and he's hoping for a rebound campaign in 2018. That could be a tough week considering his history with Minnesota. In his last five games against the Vikings, Cobb has only 20 receptions for 153 yards and a touchdown, and his best result in 2015 is 10 points in PPR. 35 yards and 0.2 touchdowns. We also have Rodgers either outside or less than 100% with his knee injury. It will be hard to trust Cobb in most leagues this week.
Tight ends
Earrings
- Jared Cook (at DEN): Cook is more of a bitch than a sleeper, but I put it here according to the format of the column. He was excellent in the first week against the Rams with nine catches for 180 yards on 12 targets, and he should be heavily involved again in this game against Denver. The Broncos also allowed Seattle winger Will Dissly to catch three passes for 105 yards and a touchdown on five targets, so Cook should expect similar success this week.
- Benjamin Watson (vs. CLE): Watson did not play a dominant game in the first week against Tampa Bay with four catches for 44 yards on four targets, but he saw Drew's fourth highest number of passes Brees behind Michael Thomas, Alvin. Kamara and Ginn. This is a good match against the Browns, and Watson is a good streaming option in Week 2.
- Jonnu Smith (vs. HOU): Smith replaces the injured Delanie Walker (ankle), and he should have the chance to play an important role. Walker was a focal point of the Tennessee attack, and Smith's profiles as a high-pass receiver now that he should start. If you've lost Walker or Olsen, give Smith a nod to go deeper leagues.
Bust alert
Njoku will play a draw in the first week against the Steelers with just three catches for 13 yards on seven targets. He was second in the team behind Landry, which was great, but Gordon should play a bigger role during the second week in New Orleans. I still hope that Njoku will have a resting season, but we need to see how he operates with Landry and Gordon who dominate the targets, as well as Duke Johnson who is mingled with the backfield. Njoku is just a low-end starting option this week on the road. Defenses / Special Teams

To start
Bears (vs. SEA) – 14.3 points projected
The era of Khalil Mack had a promising start during the first week in Green Bay. While the Packers won the game 24-23, the Bears still had four sacks, one interception and one fumble. This week, the Bears will face the Seahawks and Russell Wilson has been sacked six times in Denver. Seattle also plays consecutive road games, and it will be Mack's debut in the Windy City. I love the Bears not only as a broadcast option this week, but as a starting unit playing in the majority of leagues.
Earrings
- Patriots (at JAC): The Patriots forced Deshaun Watson to make two turnovers and sent him off three times, and they should have similar success against Blake Bortles this week, even on the road.
- Panthers (at ATL): Matt Ryan had no touchdowns, an interception and was sacked four times last week in Philadelphia. The Panthers had six sacks in the first week against Dallas, and they forced Prescott into a turnover.
- Giants (at DAL): The Cowboys' offense has struggled during the first week in Carolina and this Giants defense could put pressure on Prescott. He may not be sacked six times this week, but aside from Ezekiel Elliott, this is a foul of talent, which bodes well for the Giants as a streaming option.
Sit Em
Jets (vs MIA) – 11.8 points projected
The DST Jets were incredible in the first week in Detroit with two touchdowns and five steals, but I do not expect a new performance against the Dolphins. Although the Miami attack is far from dominant, I do not expect Ryan Tannehill to implode as Matthew Stafford did Monday night. Along with that, the Jets had no bag on Stafford, even though they were hitting him a bit. However, this rush pass is not something to be feared, and you could run after the points if you expect another quality outing from the DST Jets at Week 2.
Kicker
To start
Gould was better than expected in the first week in Minnesota with three goals and an extra point, and he resumed last season. Gould finished last year with two digits to his credit in four points in his last five games, and he made 18 field goals and 12 more points over that period. The Lions also allowed two field goals and six more points against the Jets in Week 1.
Earrings
- Dustin Hopkins (vs. IND): Hopkins had only one field goal and three extra points during the first week in Arizona, but I'm waiting for Washington to succeed in Home offensive against Colts. And Indianapolis just allowed Randy Bullock to score 10 Fantasy points in the first week with two field goals and four more points.
- Brandon McManus (vs. OAK): McManus scored two field goals, including one for 53 yards and three extra points in the first week against Seattle. Last year, at home against Oakland, McManus scored three goals in four and one more point, and the Raiders allowed Greg Zuerlein to score four goals and three more points in the first week.
- Cody Parkey (vs. SEA): Parkey just had three field goals in the first week at Green Bay, and Seattle allowed McManus to score nine Fantasy points. I like the Bears attack this week, and Parkey is a great streaming option.
Sit Em
If Rodgers is away this week, you need to find a new kicker to replace Crosby, as the Packers' offense would be in danger against Minnesota, even at home. Crosby played a quiet game against Chicago with only one goal on the field and three more points, and has only played one game with several field goals against Minnesota in his last five games.
