Fantasy Football Week 2: Yeldon, Quincy Enunwa and Jared Cook's Surrender Threat Among the Best Injury Replacement Options

The first week was tough on injuries and some players still do not know how bad they are. This should lead to a busy waiver thread during week 2.

The end of the game was the toughest, with Delanie Walker (ankle) lost for the season, and Greg Olsen (foot), probably facing a long absence. Quarterback could also be in trouble, depending on what happens with Aaron Rodgers (knee) and Marcus Mariota (elbow).

More fantasy

We hope that Rodgers in particular will be fine for week 2 against Minnesota, but Doug Baldwin (knee) might not be so lucky. He suffered the worst receiver injury with a partial MCL tear and could be missed for several weeks. Marquise Goodwin (thigh) could also miss a little time.

Leonard Fournette (hamstring) does not seem to have a serious injury, but his guardian Yeldon will be the most popular player to add this week in case Fournette misses out for Week 2 against New England. Devonta Freeman (knee) is also struggling and Jeremy Hill (ACL) is out for the season.

There are a lot of players to add as potential replacement options and I hope your Fantasy teams will not be ruined by all those injuries of week 1. And even if you're not looking for replacements of injuries, remember your fantasy success. There are always ways to modify your list to make it better.

Editor's Note: For this column, we only look at players belonging to less than 65% of CBS Sports leagues.

quarterfinals

Note injuries: Aaron Rodgers (knee), Marcus Mariota (elbow), Carson Wentz (knee)

Priority list: Tyrod Taylor (25% stake), Case Keenum (39%), Andy Dalton (40%), Joe Flacco (15%), Mitchell Trubisky (33%), Sam Darnold (24%), Ryan Fitzpatrick (3%) .

  • Taylor did not have the best performance in the first week against Pittsburgh, but he still managed 24 Fantasy points, mostly with his legs. He has a tough game in New Orleans, especially after the Saints embarrassed themselves at home in Tampa Bay. But after seeing Fitzpatrick put 49 points in Fantasy, it should be encouraging for Taylor. It is worth 5% of your FAAB budget and should help in case Rodgers or Mariota are no longer there.
  • Keenum had three steals in his first start for the Broncos against Seattle, but he also had 329 yards and three touchdowns. He gets a better game in the second week against Oakland at home, and the Raiders allowed Jared Goff to score 21 fantastic points. Keenum is another good option for injury replacement or streaming, and is worth 3% of your FAAB.
  • I do not like the Dalton clash during the second week against Baltimore on Thursday night. The defense of the Ravens is difficult, and we know the record of Dalton in prime time (index, it is not good). But Dalton scored 19 fantastic points in Week 1 at Colts, and it could be a streaming option throughout the season. It is worth 1% of your FAAB.
  • Flacco is similar to Dalton in that his long-term appeal might not be bad. He looked good in the first week against Buffalo with 27 fantastic points, and the motivation of Lamar Jackson, who finally took his job, as well as a reworked reception desk, could help Flacco to have a surprise year. It's not worth starting week 2 in the Bengals, but it's a decent candidate and worth 1% of your FAAB.
  • Trubisky had only 13 fantastic points in the first week at Green Bay, but he looked good for his first start with new coach Matt Nagy. We'll see how he's going to do the second week against Seattle at home, but it's worth hiding in deeper leagues. Only spend 1% of your FAAB.
  • Darnold's first stint on the NFL was not great as he was intercepted by Lions safety Quandre Diggs for a touchdown, but he rebounded well to lead the Jets to a win Monday night. He completed 76.2% of his passes for 198 yards, two touchdowns and one interception, and he has a good game in the second week against Miami. It's worth 1% of your FAAB in two-quarter leagues.
  • Fitzpatrick was awesome week 1 against the Saints, and he has two more starts until Jameis Winston (suspension) returns. With the exception of Tampa Bay with Fitzpatrick as a starter, which would be a surprise, the window for using it is small. And he faces Philadelphia this week. But in a deeper league, if you're stuck at quarterback, spend 1% of your FAAB on him. You can also watch Winston (40%) if you are looking for a long term option at quarter after Winston's return.

Submit candidates: Dak Prescott (76% owned), Marcus Mariota (68%), Eli Manning (60%)

Run

Note injuries: Leonard Fournette (hamstring), Devonta Freeman (knee), Sony Michel (knee), Marlon Mack (hamstrings), LeGarrette Blount (knee), Jeremy Hill (knee), Kenneth Dixon (knee)

Priority list: TJ Yeldon (23%), Phillip Lindsay (2%), Austin Ekeler (62%), Javorius Allen (16%), Aaron Jones (60%), Nyheim Hines (29%), Theo Riddick (37%), Frank Gore (25%), Jalen Richard (3%)

  • Fournette's thigh injury is considered minor, but until we see the tests on Wednesday and throughout the week, we could see Yeldon have a chance to start New England during Week 2 That would make him a potential starter. And given Fournette's injury history, Yeldon's storage is a good idea in all formats. It is worth at least 20% of your FAAB dollars.
  • Lindsay had an excellent first week match against Seattle with the same number of staves (15) and rushing yards (71) as Royce Freeman, but Lindsay added two catches for 31 yards and one touchdown on three targets. If Fournette plays in the second week, I would prefer Lindsay to Yeldon instead. It seems that Lindsay will be an important part of the Denver attack and is worth at least 15% of your FAAB.
  • Ekeler was a star in the first week against the Chiefs with five passes for 39 yards, five assists for 87 yards and one touchdown. The best part was Starter Melvin Gordon was also impressive with 166 total yards on 24 hits. If Ekeler can regularly get at least 10 hits a week at the same time as Gordon, he will be competing weekly in PPR. It is worth 15% of your FAAB.
  • Allen is the clear support of Alex Collins, who escaped Buffalo again in the first week. Coach John Harbaugh appeared to have put Collins in check, and Allen scored a touchdown in the first quarter in the third quarter. He had only four runs for 17 yards, but he also added five catches for 15 yards. If Collins stayed in the niche, Allen could be more affected during the second week in Cincinnati. And Allen is handcuffed for Collins, especially with Dixon injured. Allen is worth 10% of your FAAB.
  • There is only one Jones match left with his suspension and he should be added where he is available. Jamaal Williams did not have a good performance in Week 1 against Chicago with 15 runs for 47 yards and no shots, although Rodgers was out for part of the game with his knee injury. Jones is a good candidate to see his role on his return. It is worth 10% of your FAAB.
  • Hines is a good addition to PPR after scoring seven passes for 33 yards on nine targets in the first week against Cincinnati, as well as five runs for 19 yards. We'll see what his role will be once Mack is in good health, which could be Week 2 in Washington, and Jordan Wilkins was still 61 yards total in 17 hits (three catches). It's a crowded hinterland, but Hines should be the group's main receiver. It is worth 5% of your FAAB in PPR.
  • If Blount came out for Week 2 in San Francisco, Kerryon Johnson would benefit the most, but Riddick would also see a boost. And it's worth a look at PPR after running four races for 20 yards in the first week against the Jets, as well as five passes for 15 yards on seven targets. Even if Blount plays, Riddick is stuck in his role as a receiver off the court. It is worth 3% of your FAAB in PPR.
  • Kenyan Drake led Miami with 17 total hits (three catches) for 66 yards in the first week against Tennessee, but Gore made his debut with the Dolphins. He finished with nine runs for 61 yards, including a 21-yard run, and seemed brave for a 35-year-old. It's a good option for handcuffs for Drake and not a bad player to keep at the end of your bench in deeper leagues. It is worth 1% of your FAAB budget.
  • Richard played behind Marshawn Lynch and Doug Martin against the Rams, but it was clear that he was the main receiver of the backfield with nine catches for 55 yards on 11 targets, as well as five carries for 24 yards. In the deep PPR leagues, give Richard a look at 1% of your FAAB.

Submit candidates: Devontae Booker (62%), Ronald Jones (57%), Giovani Bernard (55%)

Wide receivers

Note injuries: Doug Baldwin (knee), Marquise Goodwin (thigh), Will Fuller (hamstring), Alshon Jeffery (shoulder), DeVante Parker (finger), DeSean Jackson (concussion)

Priority list: Quincy Enunwa (32%), Chris Godwin (31%), Kenny Golladay (57%), John Brown (47%), Brandon Marshall (9%), Tyler Lockett (41%), Geronimo Allison (39%), Mike Williams (54%), Dante Pettis (3%), Ted Ginn (42%), John Ross (31%), Cole Beasley (12%), Ryan Grant (9%), Phillip Dorsett (10%), Willie Snead (3%), Tyrell Williams (34%), Bruce Ellington (0%)

  • Before the season, I thought a healthy Enunwa chance could lead the Jets to the receptions, considering his role as receiver of possession with a rookie quarterback at Sam Darnold, especially with a difficult situation in this team. After a week, it seems like it could become a reality and Enunwa had nine more targets than Robby Anderson. We'll see what happens when Jermaine Kearse (abdomen) comes back, but he should not impact Enunwa in his role. Enunwa could become a weekly starter in PPR. It is worth at least 10% of your FAAB budget.
  • Godwin was one of my favorite sleeping receivers before the season and he played well the first week in New Orleans with three catches for 41 yards and one touchdown on four targets. He was eclipsed by Mike Evans (seven catches for 147 yards and one touchdown on seven targets) and Jackson (five catches for 146 yards and two touchdowns on five targets), and you can add Jackson (34%) there is able to play. in week 2. I'm still waiting for Godwin to be the second best receiver in Tampa Bay, and it should be added in all formats for at least 10% of your FAAB.
  • Golladay was one of the few positives for the Lions in Week 1's loss to the Jets with seven catches for 114 yards on 12 targets. If the Lions continue to have trouble running the ball, the three receivers will be relevant to Golden Tate and Marvin Jones, although Golladay is better than Jones, who has only four passes for 54 yards on eight targets ( Tate caught seven catches for 79 yards and one touchdown on 15 targets). Golladay is a # 3 receiver en route to Week 2 in San Francisco and worth 10% of your FAAB budget.
  • Could Brown be the No. 1 receiver of the Ravens? While he was third targets behind Michael Crabtree (six targets for three catches, 38 yards and a touchdown) and Snead (six targets for four catches, 49 yards and a touchdown) in the first week against Buffalo with four targets for three catches, 44 yards and one touchdown, he could have the highest potential in this group. In 2015, before facing the sickle cell trait with the Cardinals, Brown caught 65 catches for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns, and he hopes to be able to recreate this type of production this year. It is worth 10% of your FAAB. Snead, depending on its role, is also worth 1% of your FAAB in the hope of being able to achieve this performance.
  • We do not know how long Baldwin will come out, but Marshall and Lockett should be added, even though Baldwin does not lack significant time. Marshall is the safest game, and Lockett has the highest cap, which played at Week 1 in Denver. Marshall had three catches for 46 yards and one touchdown on six targets, and Lockett caught three catches for 59 yards and one touchdown on four targets. Both are worth 5% of your FAAB budget, with Marshall being the first.
  • I was a big fan of Allison before the season and he looked good against the Bears with five catches for 69 yards and one touchdown on eight targets. Rodgers' injury is the most important factor for Allison, so keep an eye on his status and the game against Minnesota at Week 2 will be tough. But if Rodgers is healthy, Allison will have a lot of good times this season and is worth 5% of your FAAB.
  • Williams played well in the first week against the Chiefs with five catches for 81 yards on six targets, and he finished third behind Melvin Gordon (13 targets) and Keenan Allen (11). Williams has a lot of advantages, and it's worth keeping 5% of your FAAB. Tyrell Williams is also worth a visit for 1% of your FAAB. He caught two passes for 8 yards and a touchdown on five targets against the Chiefs.
  • I'm going to make Pettis a priority if Goodwin is out, otherwise it's a low-end option because I do not expect much performance if Goodwin is healthy. That said, Pettis played well against the Vikings in the first week with two catches for 61 yards and one touchdown on five targets. It is worth 5% of your FAAB if Goodwin is opposed to Lions, otherwise it is worth 1%.
  • Ginn was again productive in the first week against Tampa Bay with five catches for 68 yards and one touchdown on six targets, and he finished third behind Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara. With Cameron Meredith inactive and Ginn's ability to play, especially at home against Cleveland during Week 2, it's worth adding 3% of your FAAB.
  • I was hoping for more Ross against the Colts during Week 1, but he only got one goal for 3 yards and one touchdown on two targets. There will be better days, but it remains a Fantasy boom-or-bust option. Yet, it is worth 3% of your FAAB as a hidden candidate.
  • Beasley and Grant are good options for owners of PPR leagues. I'm expecting Beasley to lead the Cowboys at receptions, and he caught seven passes for 73 yards on eight targets against the Panthers in Week 1. And Grant was easily the number two receiver of the Colts behind TY Hilton with eight catches for 59 yards on nine targets. Beasley and Grant are worth 3% of your FAAB budget in PPR.
  • Dorsett did a good job in the first week against Houston with seven catches for 66 yards and one touchdown on seven targets, but it may not be worth adding outside of the deep leagues. The Patriots will play in Jacksonville during Week 2 and Julian Edelman (suspension) will be back after three games. Dorsett is worth only 1% of your FAAB budget.
  • Ellington did well during the first week in New England replacing Fuller, who will hopefully return to the second week in Tennessee. Ellington got four catches for 37 yards and one touchdown on eight targets against the Patriots, and he is worth 1% of his FAAB until he returns.

Tight ends

Note injuries: Delanie Walker (ankle), Greg Olsen (foot), Vance McDonald (foot), Hayden Hurst (foot)

Priority list: Jared Cook (52% shareholder), Eric Ebron (52%), Benjamin Watson (42%), Austin Seferian-Jenkins (46%), Will Dissly (0%), Jonnu Smith (1%), Ian Thomas (1%) %)), Ricky Seals-Jones (30%), Antonio Gates (16%)

  • The Raiders were clearly far from the Rams' half-backs on Monday night, while Amari Cooper and Jordy Nelson had only seven combined goals, allowing Cook to participate in the match. Oakland's offensive coordinator, Greg Olson, also likes to rely on tight goals, so Cook could participate in a rebound campaign. Of course, we were cheated by Cook before, but it's hard to ignore his involvement in Week 1, as well as his appearance when he caught the ball. With all point blank injuries, Cook is worth at least 15% of your FAAB.
  • Jack Doyle remains the Colts first tight goal since he scored 10 targets for seven catches and 60 yards, and Ebron caught only four catches for 51 yards on five targets. But that is Ebron who scored at a 26-yard reception and he is able to play an important role in this attack. It is worth at least 10% of your FAAB.
  • Watson did not have a dominant performance in the first week against Tampa Bay with four catches for 44 yards on four targets, but he was fourth among the targets behind Thomas, Kamara and Ginn. He should be involved all season in a high level attack with Drew Brees, and it's worth it to buy. It is worth at least 5% of your FAAB.
  • Seferian-Jenkins did it again – he almost scored a touchdown in the first week at the Giants. This time, he was recalled by a penalty and he finished with just three catches for 25 yards on five targets. In the case of a non-receiver # 1 offense, Seferian-Jenkins should continue to play a leading role, especially in the red zone. It is worth adding if you need a close end and spend at least 3% of your FAAB on it.
  • Dissly was likely to have the most impressive stats line on Sunday with his three-take win against the Broncos for 105 yards and one touchdown on five targets. The fourth-round rookie from Washington, who had a higher profile as a blocker, had a 15-yard touchdown in the first quarter, as well as a 66-yard reception, before not doing much for the rest Match. We will see if this is a sign of things to come, especially in a 14-hit attack hit by his tight goals last year with Jimmy Graham and Luke Willson gone. It is worth 3% of your FAAB as a speculative addition.
  • Smith (Tennessee) and Thomas (Carolina) are heading for big roles now that Walker and Olsen are injured, and I like Smith better considering the Titans' attack and the lack of weapons. It's unlikely that he's playing as Walker, but it's worth adding 5% of your FAAB budget to find out. Keep an eye on Mariota's injury and how long he has been out. Thomas will do his best to replace Olsen, but we do not yet know the extent of his injury. Given the uncertainty, unless we get more information before submitting your waiver requests, spend only 3% of your FAAB on Thomas.
  • Seals-Jones played a big role in the Cardinals offense in the first week against Washington with six targets, which ranked him third in the team behind Larry Fitzgerald and David Johnson, but he finished with only three catches for 19 yards. The Arizona attack was a mess, so do not expect a huge production of Seals-Jones, although it's facing the Rams during week 2, which comes from ################################################################################### 39 to be abused by Cook. It is worth 1% of your FAAB budget.
  • Gates did not do much in the first week against the Chiefs with two catches for 16 yards on three targets, as well as a two-point conversion. He missed all of the training camp and the preseason, so maybe he is getting in shape, but he will probably be hit or broken down most weeks. In deeper leagues, Gates is worth 1% of your FAAB budget.
