Fantasy Football Week 9: Opportunity for Courtland Sutton and Eight Things to Know

We talked a lot about these guys in our blanket of the trade deadline this week, but much of it was focused on the value of the rest of the season. On the contrary, these exchanges have a greater impact in the 9th week with six teams waiting.

We will start with the Lions receivers, who have an interesting match this week. The Vikings are a good defense, even if they did not live up to our expectations. But they actually have only one corner that could scare you – Xavier Rhodes – and he got screwed up for the moment. As for the recipients themselves, they were great when they saw the volume.

Marvin Jones has seen seven or more targets in 10 games in the past two seasons. He passed 100 yards or touchdown in eight of those games. He did it twice four times. Kenny Golladay has seen seven targets four times this year. He scored in three of those games and collected 114 yards in the other. With Tate gone, seven targets should be close to the ground for Golladay and Jones. They are both top 12 receivers this week.

Sutton was the recipient most often cited as the biggest winner of the trade deadline, but there are still many unknowns. Emmanuel Sanders will always dominate goals in Denver, but the beginner has plenty of leeway to reach a target share of 20%. With Case Keenum averaging 35 attempts per game, this could represent seven targets for Sutton. At its current pace, this would give 61 yards per game and multiple opportunities in the red zone. It is not yet essential this week, but it is absolutely essential.

Jones was the biggest winner of the semi-finalists and he does not need to increase much his volume to be among the last 20. In fact, every time he gets double-digit porting, he is at least number two. My expectation is for Jones to win 13 races against the Patriots this week and keep his pace as the Patriots play softly because of Aaron Rodgers. Jones is among the top 20 in the non-PPR group and a high-end flex in the PPR group.

Fitzmagic is back and you should start it.

It does not matter who started for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as they were overall good in Fantasy. I do not expect this to change this week against Carolina, even if it means we have to wait for the time lost for Fitzmagic.

Fitzpatrick played three full games for at least 400 yards and three touchdowns. If you combine the other two halves that he has played, it's 320 yards and two touchdowns. With six teams on leave, he is definitely a starter. Here is an incomplete list of quarters I would do it again:

Calvin Ridley and Mohamed Sanu are very flexible, but you can find a better option.

Beware of the uses for Demaryius Thomas and Amari Cooper.

The new landing points for Thomas and Cooper could be exceptional for them later in the year. Maybe even in a few weeks. But I'm nervous about their first game with their new teams. Cooper has at least had the week off to learn what the Cowboys are doing and train with Dak Prescott. Thomas barely had time to try his new uniform. If you have another receiver among the top 36, it would be safer to trust them.

Nick Chubb and Latavius ​​Murray hold exceptional positions.

If you are able to turn around at home, in a favored team, against a bad defense, you have to feel really good. Murray is all these things this week, so hopefully Dalvin Cook will take another week. Murray ran like a back who does not want to give up this job. In his last three games, he has totaled 336 yards and four touchdowns. He is number 5 in non-PPR leagues. A Lions defense that yields more than 5 meters per race will not slow it down.

Chubb has only two of the three factors (his team is an underdog of eight points), but his match against the Chiefs is good enough for me to ignore. Kansas City dropped 5.4 yards per ground run and struggled to tackle. Their main tackle (Anthony Hitchens) has not trained this week because of strong ribs. Worried for the game script? Chubb was hit 18 times last week in a match as the team lost 15 points.

Expecting shots in New Orleans and New England.

Well, duh.

Obviously, you start the four quarters in these games and you start all the Rams as you normally would. But there are sleepers on these offensive heavyweights.

Tre "Quan Smith is a solid No. 3 catcher facing a Rams secondary who has had recent difficulties. Cordarrelle Patterson is also so if Sony Michel is excluded. Patterson had 10 races in week 8 without Michel. Mark Valdes-Scantling. Gernimo Allison and Randall Cobb all play against the Patriots. If Week 8 is an indication, Valdes-Scantling should expect a maximum playing time.

Nick Mullens could be the quarterback of the 49ers.

I would never have thought that I would worry about the availability of C.J. Beathard for fantastic purposes. But we are there. If Beathard is inactive Thursday night, I do everything I can to sit Marquise Goodwin (I do not like it even if Beathard plays). I would also be nervous about Matt Breida and George Kittle, but weeks off may mean you have to start them.

On the side of the Raiders, that would make their terrible defense viable. It would also be a boost for Doug Martin and added value for Derek Carr, Jalen Richard and the rest of the game. Hopefully Beathard can go.

Unless you own Ezekiel Elliott, you may want to avoid Monday Night Football.

Dallas and Tennessee are two good defensive teams and both teams have tough fouls. Even with the weeks off, no quarter is in my top-18. Dion Lewis is the Titans' best bet, but his floor is extremely low. I think Corey Davis will find an easier solution in the future, but I do not think that will happen in the 9th week. We have already talked about my reservations about Cooper.

The only Fantasy options that you should definitely start Monday night are Elliott and the two DSTs.
