Lenny Letter, Lena Dunham's feminist newsletter, which has published articles by Jennifer Lawrence and Michelle Obama, is reported to be closing.
Dunham, who founded the newsletter in 2015, aimed to "make the world a better place for women and people who love them," according to the email that this letter sent to new subscribers.
According to reports in the New York Post and Digiday, the resulting newsletter and website will be closed on Friday. They cited contributors to the newsletter who told them about the announced closure.

The Twitter account of the site also usually sends tweets on time but, at the time of publication, had not published anything since 16 hours. Thursday.
According to Digiday, the newsletter now has more than 500,000 subscribers, but its growth on social networks has slowed down. Nearly half of subscribers were still opening e-mails in July 2017, sources told the New York Post.
Sources said the newsletter had always struggled to get advertising support. He signed an agreement with Condé Nast to manage the site's ads in October. Condé Nast did not respond to requests for comments from Post and Digiday.

The newsletter is sent twice a week by e-mail. It covers topics such as feminism, style, politics, health.
"I think our ideal audience is all people who see themselves as a progressive feminist and want to lead an inspiring life," Dunham told Business Insider in 2015.

Jennifer Lawrence wrote for Lenny about the pay gap between men and women in Hollywood, and the poll questioned Hillary Clinton during her 2016 presidential election campaign.
Dunham, best known as a writer, star and creator of HBO's "Girls" show, founded the newsletter with production partner Jenni Konner. It's hard to know if the sites' podcasts – "Women of the Hour" and "Lenny Says" – will continue.
