A fire watch was issued from Saturday evening to Monday morning for parts of the Bay Area due to gusts of wind and drought.
"We do not expect massive heat, it's a good thing. It's not going to be windy all this time, it's really for the night, "said Suzanne Sims, a meteorologist with the National Meteorological Service.
The warning was issued from 20 hours. Saturday at 9 am Monday for the East Bay and North Bay Hills, the Diablo and Santa Cruz mountain ranges at altitudes above 1,000 feet.
Temperatures in the interior regions of the Bay Area are expected to remain in the 1970s, Sims said. Coastal temperatures will be in the 60's to 70's.
"It's going to warm up a bit on Sunday," said Sims. There will be "more temperatures in the 80s, but those higher temperatures are in the valleys, not so much in the mountains."
Temperatures in high altitudes will remain mainly in the 70's.
The humidity will initially be above 50% Saturday night, and then fall Sunday, according to the Kensington Fire Protection District.
A wind advisory was issued for the same period for the East Bay and North Bay Hills and the Diablo Mountain Range. Winds can increase the danger of fire.
Cal Fire warned that the state posed a high risk of forest fires due to winds this weekend.
"Do not crack!" Tweeted Cal Fire. "Despite recent rains, California's fire danger remains high and gusty winds are expected this weekend in many parts of northern America. Heaps of landscape debris can easily trigger a new forest fire. Local burning bans remain in place. "
Northeast winds of up to 35 mph and bursts of up to 50 mph are expected at the top of the ridges, Sims said.
"People have to take the usual precautions with the wind," Sims said. "Safe stuff that could blow. Just be careful with fire, barbecues, things like that.
