A fire broke out Friday night in East Hampton Village, home of billionaire Ron Perelman, said his spokesman.

About seven fire departments fought against the fire, which began just before 10 pm. at the Montauk Highway property, according to the East Hampton Village Police and the Suffolk County Emergency and Emergency Department.

All visible flames were extinguished shortly after midnight, but firefighters remained on the scene to smother embers in the wreckage, authorities said. No case of injury was reported immediately, officials said.

Perelman's spokesman said that the businessman-philanthropist and his family were in New York when flames broke out on the estate, which is about 58 acres. The staff was at the property at that time, he said.

Perelman's various holdings of sweets at Revlon's largest holdings have a net worth of $ 9.8 billion, writes Forbes magazine in March.
