All evacuation orders in Napa County for the Snell fire have been lifted, authorities said Monday and about 180 homes are no longer under threat.
Fire and law enforcement officials issued evacuation orders Monday at 11:00 am for Berryessa Estates, Snell Valley Road and the west side of Berryessa-Knoxville Road from Pope Creek Bridge to the border of Napa-Lake County.
Berryessa Estates homes are no longer in danger from flames, according to officials from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, but residents have been urged to remain vigilant and ready to evacuate.
The Snell fire is located north of Berryessa Lake in Napa and Lake Counties at 2,490 acres and 45% by Monday night.
Interstate 5, California's main commercial artery, was reopened on Monday after being closed for five days by the Delta Fire near Shasta Lake.
Caltrans has announced the reopening of the 45-kilometer section north of Redding and south of Dunsmuir (Siskiyou County) Monday around 8:30. However, the agency warned that the traffic would be limited to a single lane The Lakehead Bridge (Shasta County) and Flume Creek Road south of Dunsmuir, while the crews repair the fire damage of the roadway.
The Delta Fire continued to burn on both sides of the I-5 but the flames are no longer dangerously close to the freeway – as Wednesday when they swept the road, stopping traffic and forcing some truckers to abandon their facilities. which have been destroyed.
On Monday evening, the fire had burned 49,874 acres and was only contented at 5%.
